Great vibes and ambience—definitely a place you go for the setting and overall experience. The service was also excellent: attentive, friendly, and accommodating throughout.
That said, the food doesn’t live up to the price point. It’s not bad, but it’s far from exceptional. The meat platter we ordered was overly fatty (almost half fat), which felt excessive for the price. The cheesecake was good, but not something that should stand out as a signature dessert at this level. The banana dessert was disappointing—very basic and not well executed.
Drinks were mixed: the espresso martini was great, but the mocktails were quite poor—lacking flavor and originality.
Overall, this is a place you go for the vibe, location, and service—not for standout food. For the price, it feels overpriced.
If you want to tilt slightly kinder, you can bump tone but keep 3 stars. If you want to be harsher, tighten the language—but I wouldn’t go below 3 given the service and ambience.
Beautiful restaurant. I didn’t take pictures of the decor but perfect for a date, celebration, group outing, etc. The food was amazing. We were celebrating a birthday dinner and brought our own cake to cut. The staff were super accommodating, professional, welcoming and overall great. This place looks like a good spot for brunch too. It was easy to find parking in the area.
We were looking for a cozy charming atmosphere and we found it. We tried the chicken and duck and both were outstanding. The dark chocolate cheesecake is a must.
Service is 10/10
We had a fantastic experience at The Waverly Inn in West Village. The atmosphere is completely in character — elegant yet relaxed — creating the perfect backdrop for a memorable meal.
We ordered the eggs Benedict, the chicken sandwich and the burger which was absolutely spectacular—clearly a standout. The onion rings we had as a side were also must-order: crispy, flavorful, and just the right accompaniment.
The whole visit exceeded expectations. I’ll definitely be back whenever I get the chance.
Made a reservation here for a Saturday evening dinner (resy opens 2 weeks in advanced), for my partners birthday. I did note this in my booking but it was not acknowledged by staff at all.
The dining room has a great, old feel to it, however tables are very close together. We were lucky to dine at 6pm, before the room was full.
We had the trout salad as appetiser which was better than expected and easy to share between two. For our mains, we had the chicken pot pie (very hearty) and roast chicken. Both were cooked perfectly.
For the price, I would only recommend for special occasions.
