We brought Gals That Brunch Supper Club to Blank Slate and truly left with that “wait, how do we even explain what just happened?” feeling, in the best way. Blank Slate is such a special new addition to Encinitas because it really is exactly what the name says: a blank slate. A blank slate for a date night. A blank slate for a girls’ night. A blank slate for a curated supper. A blank slate for a private dinner, birthday, shower, rehearsal dinner, brand gathering, community table, or whatever beautiful thing you are dreaming up next. It feels like a restaurant, creative event space, patio moment, and local family dream all unfolding in real time.
We came for one of their Community Dinners, which is a three-course prix fixe menu that changes weekly, sometimes even more often, based on what is fresh, seasonal, locally sourced, or available that week. Definitely check their Instagram before you go and def make sure to make reservations for the Community Dinners. Our table loved getting to experience such a thoughtful menu, from the bread with tomato compote and basil olive oil to the tin fish board with garlic aioli and pickled veggies. And honestly, can we talk about the tin fish for a second? It is on their patio menu and we fully support a whole menu built around it, lol. The garlic aioli alone deserved its own applause break. We also loved the ribs with tomato barbecue sauce, house-made coleslaw, truffle fries, fresh peaches with house-made whipped cream, and tiramisu. Everything felt intentional, unfussy, and made with care.
They also recently launched patio dining Thursday through Sunday from 4:30 to 7, and it is absolutely worth wandering in for thoughtful bites, nibbles, drinks, and that sweet Encinitas ocean breeze.
As an organization that hosts a lot of events, we know how rare it is to find a place that can marry good food, good people, beauty, flexibility, hospitality, and a curated menu. Pam, Aron, and the team have created something full of heart, full of possibility, and full of pioneering spirit. We are so rooting for them and highly recommend Blank Slate whether you are planning your next date night, gathering your favorite people around the table, dreaming up a supper club, or looking for a truly special event space in North County.
Fantastic dinner tonight at Blank Slate. We had three different appetizers: the prosciutto and melon, a wedge salad and the salmon. All were excellently prepared and the salmon was particularly elegant and elevated. The beef was perfectly cooked for our entrée. Desserts of lemon trifle and chocolate cake were also delicious. Service was spot on and I recommend this new establishment highly. Enjoy!
We live near by and love trying new places. My wife made reservations, we arrived with fingers crossed and left with with a big ole thumbs up. Everything we ordered was so tasty and beautiful. Great selections of wine too. Cheers to the chef and the lovely lady that greeted us.

Such a lovely spot! The food is delicious, with quality ingredients, generous portions, and great value. We’re lucky to have Blank Slate right across the street.
