Listen, $17.65 including tip might sound like a chunk of change for lunch, but the Carls-good burrito at Sam's Kitchen is an absolute beast that makes every single penny worth it. I added sour cream, and the ratio of guac to cheddar to sour cream was dead-on perfect—no dry bites, but no sloppy mess either. The real kicker? The fries inside weren't some sad, soggy afterthought. They stayed fresh and crispy right alongside the perfectly seasoned tri-tip steak. It's a massive, absolutely delicious burrito. Do yourself a favor and get one.
I just found this simple little spot in the commercial center off el Camino real at Faraday. It’s delightful!! Three generations of ladies, cooking and serving the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had!!
I chose the Vegan (spinach, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms) and added sausage and eggs! Fantastic and perfect in every way!
Place is super clean, ladies are very nice and I will be back with husband and soon!!

I got the El Jefe. In a world where—especially in San Diego—portions keep getting smaller, I’m still thinking about the massive chunks of rib eye they shoved in that burrito.
The food was fresh, piping hot, and delicious. I’ve been eating burritos in North County for a long time and these ladies know what they’re doing.
I’ll be back.

Sam makes the best breakfast and regular burritos in San Diego County. And I know that’s a bold statement, but I stand behind it. I recommend calling about 20-25 minutes before you want to pick up because, as you can imagine, this place is sometimes very busy during late breakfast/lunch time. Love this place and highly recommend.

Please support this great family owned deli run by 3 generations of women.
I'm a meat eater, never eat veggies, but their veggie wraps and salads are so delicious I usually eat vegan there although their Mexican food is as good as any I've had on either side of the border.
I eat a ton, even I get stuffed for $8 here, I can't even do that at Jack in the Box nowadays.
BTW, try their mole (a traditional Mexican dish pronounced mo-lay), it's one of the best things that isn't on the menu
