Right from the drop-in, the nostalgia hits hard. I grew up playing Tony Hawk games, and walking into Chick & Hawk felt like I had unlocked the restaurant level inside the game. The atmosphere is packed with skate culture, the staff absolutely rocks, and the whole place just has good vibes.
My son and I shared a couple of the Early Bird sandwiches, and they absolutely shredded. Every bite was bursting with flavor and had our taste buds begging for another run. Everything was cooked perfectly, fresh, and seriously delicious.
We'll definitely be dropping back in because I have my eye on the Hot Stuff next. If you know me, you know I love bringing the heat, so it's time to see if Chick & Hawk can make me bail—or if I'll roll away with another win. Awesome food, awesome people, and an experience that's totally worth the ride!
I had the wonderful experience this weekend of trying out Chick and Hawk in Leucadia, CA. I was staying on the beach at my cousin’s spot in Neptune and was pleasantly surprised by how close it was walking to it! That’s a good thing too because this spot is small and the parking lot accommodates for its size ( it’s tiny) I was greeted both times by the mgr, Martha who in addition to having incredible hospitality skills, also has a bad ass taste in music, having curated a hell of a playlist for this spot! I was pleasantly surprised by the reggae/ ska/ SoCal surf skate tunes. So upon being seated I met Maddie my waitress who was also so sweet and accommodating I asked what she liked there and she recommended the Seabird Fish sandwich. Boy was I glad I listed to her. This was the absolute best fish sandwich I’ve ever had!!! Think McDonald’s filet o fish on steroids- and not the cheap ass roofs you buy innTJ, but the ones that come from your LaJolla Dr. Itbwas a huge piece of Albacore deep fried in a tempura like batter with a slaw on it and Yuzu tartar sauce. god damn was it fire. Loved it so much and it was so filling I’m glad that I didn’t order the fries…that came the best day when I went back!!
Second day I tried the Birdman perfectly spicy and it’s fabulous as well. Don’t get me wrong when I say this, but it’s a huge piece of chicken with a lot of toppings with the slaw, comeback sauce, and pickles it was a messy Sando. The spice was great and the duck fat fries were good, they weren’t great. I asked the waitress if they were supposed to be crispy and she replied “yes” so maybe that was a slight miss, but the spice on the fries was similar to the spice of the sandwich. The comeback sauce paired well with the fries too.
Next time I come down to Leucadia which will be soon- I’m back on the Seabird train. Thanks to everyone who took care of me while I stuffed my face at Chick and Hawk. Big thumbs up to Larayn and Tony Hawk for the 🥎⚾️

Came from Sacramento, been skateboarding for 18 years, I have been dying to check this place out. I got the 180, which is no heat, my wife got the 720 which is a step under 900 and it was hot for her but she loved it. Dude the chicken was sooo juicy and the buns were nice and thick and toasted, pickles were sweet, and the sauce was amazing. Duck fat fries were so good bro I had way too many, ranch is made from yogurt which I love, my wife makes ranch at home like that so it tasted homemade. They have healthy ways of making their food. Gosh it was great. Tony was not there but it’s got a bunch of skaters working there and they’re all pretty cool. Overall the price is kinda high but you’re paying for extremely high quality food so it’s not bad at all.

Excellent high quality food and really nice spot. We got the poke bowl which was delicious and fresh. We also got the duck fat spicy fries which were also really good amd the spicy chicken sandwich. I went all in with the 960 spice and it was good but my wife thought it was a little too spicy to enjoy. I've tried the 720 spice also and it was really good as well and not too spicy. I feel 360 or below would not be enough spice to properly enjoy.

What we had was great. The chicken sandwhich came out super hot and juicy with a ton of flavor and the banh mi was also very tasty and solid. Loved the cucumber and daikon salad. The drinks were also superb.
