My family and I needed help with food and through their program we were able to get it. First off when walking in we were greeted and the staff is so wonderful. The food was amazing and more than expected. When things get better and we have extra money, we will definitely come in to eat. You guys are amazing for what you do and it is very much appreciated!
What an incredible place to eat in Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania! We visited Hope Heroes Southern Kitchen with a large group of 12, and the experience was flawless from start to finish. Despite our group size, the spacious dining area accommodated us easily. The restaurant was exceptionally clean, and the overall atmosphere was lively and fun.
What makes this place truly special is their mission. Operating as a social enterprise, they stand for H-O-P-E—"Helping Other People Eat!"—and are dedicated to eliminating food insecurity. Knowing our meal supports local heroes and neighbors in need made the dining experience even better.
The menu is packed with classic Southern dishes. The shrimp and grits were cooked to perfection and incredibly flavorful. I ordered the brisket sandwich and a side of collards; the brisket was seasoned well, and everything tasted great. Both dishes are definitely worth reordering!
Between the delicious Southern comfort food and their amazing dedication to the community, I highly recommend checking this place out. Great food, great cause!
This place was so quiet for Saturday lunch - we had no wait! Super friendly staff and clean place. The fried chicken was really good. Baked potato with brisket - excellent! Get green beans and dump in top! Looks like they have a more robust menu for Sunday brunch - likely busier time. Definitely want to try.
Not MY idea of soul food, but it’s decent. I placed an online order for brisket, fried chicken and ribs but at my pick up time (3:15 pm on a Saturday) I received a phone call saying they were out of the brisket. So let’s start with the good, the ribs, chicken and hope cakes were pretty good. The bbq sauce made the ribs for me. I was not a fan of the Mac and cheese however it was decent (again I was looking for more of a soul food type Mac). The fries were over seasoned with old bay and put in a plastic to-go container which immediately made them sweat and get soggy. I live about 35 min away so I had to eat those in the car, though they were still a bit soggy. The green beans weren’t great but not the worst, not much flavor and a little spice to it. The same goes for the collards which were out the can by the way so I was a bit disappointed. They were also a little sweet, not a good flavor to me. The sweet tea was good, it was actually very sweet like I like it. My takeaway: I’m not sure if I would visit again but if I did it would only be for the chicken, ribs and hope cakes.
I went here and there were two people working, one in the back one waiting. I was serviced by Mr. Blake and he made the experience perfect, what a great and model employee! Thanks to him I had a great time! Food was great as well!
