Wanted to make my wife’s birthday special and searched for special restaurant. Came up with pretty good review even though price was high side. Didn’t want to skimpy 65th birthday so made reservation in advance. To make sure my wife gets pleasant surprise at this raving restaurant I went on the day of my wife’s birthday in early afternoon for 6pm dinner reservation and gave $50 tip to front dest Harry asking to make a little bit special for my wife which he said they will. Well, we enjoy food and our server was pleasant. As for all that rave reviews I read I was underwhelmed with the presentations that were Ok but not what to be expected on special occasions at the price they charge. Maybe it’s because it was Monday which made it quite for us but, foos was not what to be expected and they served 1 tiny candle on 3 tiny scoops of vanilla ice cream for my wife’s 65th birthday even after I’ve spent $50 tip before hand asking to be a bit special. Perhaps my expectation on this night’s what seems to me like a limited menu and entire dining experience is more than other patrons never mind on special occasion like 65th birthday… very disappointed overall. My suggestion to anyone who is thinking of selecting restaurant to lower expectation especially on special occasions like birthday celebration with just skimpy 1tiny half size of pinky finger and not even a glass of fizzed water is just beyond me. The porch special spot the review mentions is just Ok with a bit dilapidated interior with bit dirty white paint and dull and seem like broken above ceiling needs to be replaced. My personal advice for anyone considering going there is to skip it for special occasions to save the disappointment as well as to save money.
The BRANZINO. The meal was made by the branzino. Perfectly cooked, nice sauce, large fish, I was blown away too much I forgot to take a pic, sorry. There isn’t another word to say to explain how perfect our experience was.
The service was 5 stars. Ambiance 5 stars. Manhattan (stupid good) (x2 I mustn't lie) 5 stars. Our entire experience at this establishment was superb. We had the deviled eggs 3 ways, unique. Octopus, best we’ve had. The scallops, good portion, and perfectly cooked (corn base, mid…). And the branzino, did I mention that?? Finished with the homemade sorbet. OUT OF THIS WORLD. We had to reserve this restaurant again before we went home it was so good. For the love of all things holy, GO. Oh, and loved the pianist.

Celebrated our anniversary there!! Such an amazing experience! Everything here is completely authentic and visually gorgeous. I was blown away by every single thing, from the drinks all the way to the dessert

Unreal meal at the Ebbitt room last night. All veggies are fresh from local farm (Plum Farm) since I think owners own this restaurant as well, and WOW, what a difference!!! Calamari was decadent, as were grilled oysters. Scallops and Hallibut were perfectly cooked. Donuts and chocolate soufflé for dessert were also perfect. Our waiter was very very good too - just the right amount of coming and checking in & loved the humor. Truly come here over anywhere else if you appreciate fine dining!

Our reservation was for 6:45pm... we went early to have a drink in the porch which was so pleasant- a comfy couch and horse and buggy making loops... I checked in and the host immediately said Happy Anniversary (my wife had noted in the reservation). We were seated and greeted with a champagne toast for our anniversary!!! Danica our server was fantastic and the food was honestly perfect!!! We started with the Calamari app as well as the Cut Pasta and Crab app- 2 of the best apps I have ever enjoyed! I got the NY Strip- which will be my standard meal there moving forward! I loved the mushroom gravy and the zucchini couldn't have been better! My wife got the Scallops and they were succulent for sure! We wrapped sharing the Blueberry Tartlet... all I can say is WOW!!! What an experience! ENJOY!!!
