Il Riccio Cape May

This was our second time here we went last year and we thought the food was amazing felt like we were at a Michelin star restaurant. This year the meal was even more fabulous. I ordered truffled ravioli which was prepared tableside the chef came out with a hot dish the ravioli and a truffle sauce he then flake the Lord's chunks of cheese on top of each ravioli and then topped it with a truffled puree the flavor was unbelievable. My husband ordered spaghetti alla Scoglio which was a large bowl of various Seafood (jumbo shrimp, scallops, clams, scallops, and squid) and underneath all that was amazing homemade spaghetti. It was so much for him that he took some home which never happens. And I almost forgot about the Jamon Iberico de Bellota with burrata which was a great start to our dinner. This is our favorite spot for Italian food in all of New Jersey and on the East Coast actually. A must stop and the bonus is it's in the most historical part of Cape May so we got to walk around the gorgeous town after our fabulous dinner.

I rarely write reviews but my husband and I had such a great experience last night. Everything was a 10- service, food and atmosphere. Alex was our server and he took such great care of us. Please try the anchovies for appetizer. It was the absolute best thing I’ve had in a very long time. The risotto was cooked perfectly. Scallops and gnocchi pistachio also a huge highlight. Finish your night with the limoncello dessert- amazing we will definitely be back .

I was finally able to try Il Riccio today, and I could not have been more impressed with the restaurant. Every dish felt thoughtfully curated, and I had a hard time choosing an entrée because everything on the menu sounded so appetizing. The atmosphere was beautiful, and the restaurant fits perfectly into Cape May! Our party started with the octopus, which was outstanding. We will definitely be back to order it again. Everyone ended up ordering the Lobster Ravioli because it sounded too good to pass up, and our server, Michele, was very helpful in guiding us through the menu and helping us make our decision. Dessert was phenomenal. We thoroughly enjoyed the tiramisu, limoncello sorbet, and Nutella gelato. We also greatly appreciated the restaurant taking note of a pistachio allergy in our party. The staff was attentive, and we felt completely confident that the meal was allergy safe. Thank you for a wonderful evening, we will be returning and look forward to our next visit!

We came to Cape May and stopped at Il Riccio, and it ended up being a culinary trip to Italy. The flavors, the sauces, and the fresh ingredients made the experience so deliciously unique, making it the best meal my family and I have had so far. I ordered the burrata as an appetizer and the pistachio gnocchi as main entrée. During my first bite, my husband could tell just by the look on my face that it had awakened my palate. The rest of the meal was an extraordinary journey. Dessert? I couldn’t be shy! We ordered three tiramisus (original, pistachio, and chocolate), gelato, and a pistachio cake to share with the family. The service was exemplary. Nolan made us feel so welcomed and added plenty of laughs to our amazing lunch. The owner is warm and kind, creating an authentic, inviting atmosphere that makes this restaurant such a treasure. We were celebrating my husband 40th Birthday and Il Riccio Cape May provided an iconic experience, a standard we will be chasing from now on. The only downside? I wish they were in my hometown! Great food. Highly recommend!
