We stopped at La Grignote Cafe on Duval Street for breakfast and it was an absolute delight. I ordered the cafe au lait and the eggs Benedict with avocado, and both were outstanding. The coffee was rich and perfectly prepared, while the eggs Benedict was one of the best I’ve ever had — perfectly poached eggs, delicious hollandaise, and the fresh avocado took it to another level. Every bite was flavorful, well-balanced, and made with clear attention to quality.
The atmosphere is welcoming and lively, perfect for a Duval Street morning. Service was friendly and efficient, making the whole experience even better.
If you’re looking for an amazing breakfast in Key West, La Grignote Cafe is a must-visit. This meal ranks among the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. We’ll definitely be back on our next trip! Highly recommended.
This place is absolutely amazing! Katie is truly the best, so welcoming and attentive!! If you’re in the area, this spot is definitely worth a visit! The location is perfect, the entire staff was incredibly friendly, the food was delicious, and the service was impressively fast. Simply put, the charm of the Midwest has made its way to the South! We already can’t wait to come back. And whatever you do, don’t leave without trying the honey cake, it’s unbelievably good! 😋
I just had the most delightful experience at La Grignote in Key West, and I can honestly say it’s one of the best French bakeries I’ve ever visited — and yes, it’s genuinely better than many I’ve tried in France itself!
From the moment I walked in, the aroma of fresh croissants, baguettes, and pastries wrapped around me like a warm hug. Everything is baked to perfection with that authentic French touch — flaky, buttery, and full of flavor. I tried the almond croissant and a classic pain au chocolat, and both were absolute perfection.
But what truly made this place special was the owner, Dennis. He was amazing and incredibly kind, greeting customers with genuine warmth and taking the time to chat. His passion for his craft shines through in every interaction and every bite. You can tell this isn’t just a business for him — it’s a labor of love.
If you’re in Key West, do yourself a favor and stop by La Grignote. Whether you’re craving authentic French pastries or just want a friendly smile to start your day, this bakery delivers on every level. I’ll definitely be back on my next visit!
Highly, highly recommend! Merci, Dennis! 🇫🇷🥐
Regards from your Brazilian customers
I love this place! How does one accomplish savory and satisfying, yet still healthy and with high quality product.... especially in the keys. Epic cold brew, wonderful open air ambiance. Pastries, muffins, sourdough, gluten free options. Eggs bene CROISSANTS! OH MY!
First morning after arriving in Key West. I went to watch the sunrise, then stopped here on the way back to the apartment.
Food:
They have an amazing assortment of pastries and desserts. I ordered a hot chai latte and an almond croissant. Both were good. The chai had nice froth and a decent amount of concentrate, giving it good flavor. It was warm, though it would have been better if it had been hotter. The croissant was good, but there may have been too much filling, which made it soggy in the middle. It was a bit messy to eat.
Service:
I received a friendly greeting when I arrived. They let me pick a spot out front at a counter overlooking Duval Street. The server came over promptly and took my order. There were plenty of friendly smiles and helpful assistance.
Atmosphere:
The place is cute, with seating both inside and outside. The outdoor seating is especially nice if you’re by yourself and want either some quiet time or the opportunity to strike up a conversation with others.
I’d stop again, and likely try something different next time.
