Why go to the Réunion Islands when the Banana Cafe is here in KW. Friendly staff and such an open venue. Went for brunch and spent probably way too much time eating these incredible meals, but there was never any rush by the wait staff which makes an experience go from good to great. My meal, the salmon eggs benny, had great flavor and eggs were cooked perfectly. I would love to come back and try their other meal options. Would recommend to anyone who wants a flash in the past and some good music.
Had a great experience at Banana Cafe in Key West. The food was really good and the atmosphere was perfect for a relaxed breakfast/brunch on Duval Street. The service was a bit slow, but the place was very busy, so it seemed more related to the amount of guests than the staff themselves. Overall, definitely worth visiting if you’re in Key West.

Having traveled to the Florida Keys for over twenty years, I’ve tried just about every breakfast joint on the map, but Banana Cafe on Duval is the one place I return to trip after trip. It is the absolute definition of consistent excellence.
If you go, there are a few non-negotiables you have to order. The blackened shrimp eggs Benedict is just to die for—perfectly poached with just the right amount of kick. If you have a sweet tooth, the bananas foster waffle is elite. And whatever you do, do not skip a side of their breakfast potatoes; they're perfectly seasoned and a must-have.
Beyond the incredible food, what really sets this place apart is the hospitality. The lovely French woman who opened the cafe back in the '90s is incredibly sweet and has set a fantastic tone for the business. While tourist burnout is real and you can sometimes run into rushed or rude service elsewhere in Key West, the staff here are always completely on point, welcoming, and attentive.
Oddly enough, despite coming here for two decades, I’ve only ever eaten their breakfast food—but seeing how happy, satisfied, and smiling everyone else is when they leave, I have no doubt their lunch and dinner menus are just as spectacular.
If you love breakfast and want a wonderful, stress-free morning in Key West, do yourself a favor and walk through their doors. You won't regret it.

Had a wonderful breakfast at Banana Cafe! The portions were generous and everything we ordered was delicious. I had the salmon bagel and my fiancé went with the American breakfast and both were fresh and flavorful. For lattes we tried the raspberry chocolate and the banana chocolate lattes, and both were absolutely amazing. If you’re looking for a cozy spot with great food and creative coffee, I highly recommend eating here. We will definitely be back!

Amazing amazing amazing! I ordered the iced banana bread latte and the La Veggie & Avocado crepe. My husband got the banana foster waffle. Everything was so delicious and flavorful. Such a cute little spot too! Staff attentive and friendly.
