When a venue charges premium prices, the flavor profile must justify the cost, here, it fell entirely short.
Operationally, the table management is highly flawed. I booked a table for two at least three weeks in advance and explicitly communicated it was for a birthday. Instead of accommodating this, we were seated in the middle of a high-traffic walkway directly next to the rear doors, subjecting us to a constant, uncomfortable draft for the duration of the meal.
The only redeeming factor of this venue is the serving staff, who were genuinely friendly, polite, and tried their best under the circumstances.
If you are looking for a floral backdrop for photos, this venue serves its purpose. If you are looking for a high-quality dining experience that respects your capital and special occasions, look elsewhere.
A beautiful afternoon at The Ivy Chelsea Garden in the heart of Chelsea. We were seated outside on a sunny day, surrounded by greenery, and the setting felt calm, elegant and completely removed from the pace of London.
We chose the steak and bubbles menu. The steak was cooked perfectly, full of flavour and beautifully presented, with creamed spinach and thick-cut chips alongside it. The food felt indulgent without being overdone.
Service was excellent from start to finish — warm, attentive and professional, while still allowing us to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.
A wonderful choice for a long lunch, outdoor dining or a special afternoon in Chelsea. The garden is the real highlight and makes this location feel genuinely memorable. We would happily return.

What a surprise
We were looking for a restaurant with outdoor space and even though we were hesitant about restaurant chains as Ivy has extensive outlets in UK and concern for ability to provide quality for such high turnovers we were blown away by this particular branch with its outstanding professional engaging and efficient service amazing competitively priced menus where quality and creativity was not compromised.It was Sunday lunch and it was buzzing with energy and atmosphere and clients respectfully dressed
There were so many different sections to the restaurant and we chose outdoor garden area which was verdant with real plants and flowers.
The first thing you noticed always a telltale sign in spite of large numbers dining we were provided with proper and large napkins.
There was a limited promotion £19.95 two course menu and wine by the bottle at half price - unbelievable deal
The dishes were chose were excellent and in addition we had nibbles to start with julienne (thin strips) courgette tempura very generous in portion
The pavlova with Chantilly cream and strawberries had the ingredients well balanced.The meringue was crispy but soft enough inside - the perfect way
We had been informed that it was one promotion or the other prior to booking so we took just a 250 ml carafe but in fact it was incorrect.The assistant manager Leo was delightful and insisted we have the wine deal and not with our prompting and removed the carafe cost from our bill - this says a lot about the restaurant and its strategic thinking putting customers first.Our member of staff assigned to our table was the charismatic Ray - so engaging and attentive
We cannot believe we have lived in this borough for 30 years and have only discovered this hidden gem - you have no idea from the outside that this restaurant opens up at the back into a garden paradise

Would recommend! Afternoon tea was affordable for London standards. Unfortunately we didn’t get seated in the garden though we mentioned it in the reservation. The salmon savory pastry was a little dry and the muffin flavorless but other than that the food was good. Our waitress Meghan and the staff were very kind and the overall atmosphere great. Would come here again with friends and recommend!

We visited as a group of six during the Chelsea Flower Show to celebrate a friend’s birthday. I often visit different branches of The Ivy, but this was by far the best experience I’ve had — both the food and the atmosphere were exceptional.
Although it was an especially busy period because of the Flower Show, "Tanbir" made our lunch truly enjoyable. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and professional throughout.
We were all on a tight schedule with plans afterward, and Tanbir helped us calmly and thoughtfully from start to finish. A big thank you again to him for making the day so special.
