It’s been a while…
At last, following the unfortunate fire last year, som saa has reopened.
This place remains as fantastic as it always was. Authentic Thai food, well spiced, great ingredients and very tasty. Decent, friendly service too in a chilled dining room.
A great set lunch menu for £38 per person which you could have more of if you wanted to. We had a couple of additional plates - the deep fried seabass is a ‘must-have’ and always has been.
Great to see this place back. Some of the best Thai cooking in London.
My favourite restaurant, I recommend it to people and bring people here all the time. The food is stunning, I recommend the sea bass, chicken skewer and papaya salad. 100/10. The staff are lovely and so helpful every time and the environment is great. I’m obsessed.
Arrived a little too early, to a warm welcome and just did drinks at the bar.
Our waitress was great and the team generally very attentive and focused on table service.
We arrived before 5 to an empty restaurant and by 6 the place was full.
Really fun atmosphere! Nice mix of tourists and locals.
The presentation of the food, the dinner ware used and overall look of everything was beautiful...however, we went for the set menu, with the addition of the sea bass and whilst the dishes looked beautiful and tasted ok, I felt they were way too salty. Unsure if they use MSG.
All in all an enjoyable experience and would definitely go back to try other menu items.
Visited as a 8 person group for dinner. We pre-arranged to have the set menu with 3 of us choosing the vegan set menu and the rest choosing the regular set menu. We had suggestions on drinks and included exotic drinks like green negroni, Bambat potion, Rak tong ham.
The food was delicious and very new - I never had mango and lemongrass in a salad or lotus roots in gravy. Very unique and tasty. Beware of the red chilli though- I took a small bite and felt okay and then bit into the rest and then lost all sense of taste for some time 😂.
Most of our group said they will be back with a partner or family or friends. Loved the place.
Exceptional value and service. Flavours were vibrant and elevated beyond standard Thai cuisine. Service took it over the top, when we were struggling with the spice level on one dish, we were offered chilled jasmine tea automatically without telling anyone. Highly recommend.
