Dickie Brennan's Steakhouse was one of the highlights of our visit to New Orleans' French Quarter. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed into a beautiful dining room that perfectly blended elegance with the warm hospitality the city is known for.
A special thank you goes to Alfredo, our waiter, who provided exceptional service throughout the evening. He took amazing care of us, patiently walked us through the menu, explained the dining experience, and made sure every detail was just right. His knowledge and attentiveness elevated an already outstanding meal.
For our entrées, we enjoyed the ribeye and the New York strip. Both steaks were cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The sides were equally impressive, served in generous portions that were perfect for sharing. We especially enjoyed the Brussels sprouts, potatoes au gratin, sautéed mushrooms, and the tallow fries, all of which were prepared exceptionally well and complemented the steaks beautifully.
The evening concluded with a tableside Bananas Foster presentation, which was both entertaining and delicious. It was a special treat that my wife absolutely loved and thoroughly enjoyed. Watching it prepared tableside added a memorable touch to an already fantastic dining experience.

We celebrated a friend’s 50th birthday at Dickie Brennan’s, and it could not have been a better experience.
We were set up in a private dining room that was beautiful and comfortable, making the night feel truly special. The atmosphere struck the perfect balance between elegant and relaxed.
Our server, Miguel, was phenomenal. He was attentive, incredibly professional, and genuinely kind. He made excellent recommendations and ensured we felt taken care of throughout the evening. His service really elevated the experience.
The food was excellent. Standouts included the oyster appetizers, onion rings, and crab cake. The 16oz NY strip, Oscar style, was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. Sides like the potatoes au gratin and cream of spinach were rich, classic, and delicious. The cocktail and whiskey selection was also impressive.
For dessert, the chocolate cake was outstanding and the perfect ending to a fantastic meal.
Dickie Brennan’s delivered on every level. Great food, exceptional service, and a wonderful setting for a special occasion. We’ll absolutely be back.

Jackson, our server was AWESOME! 👏 👏 👏🥰 Jackson is the perfect example of an EXCELLENT fine dining server; welcoming, gracious, very professional, friendly, classy, and thoroughly knowledgeable of the food and menu. Jackson checked on us frequently without ever being intrusive. Additionally, he always looked at our table as he walked by to see if we needed anything. He spoke clearly, not too loudly or too softy.☺️ He didn’t linger at our table unnecessarily, as some servers can do (inappropriately, staying too long at a customer’s table).
Our meal, and the entire dining experience was so lovely and memorable.❤️
I ordered the small filet (6 oz) and the wedge salad. My husband ordered the NY strip and a Cesar salad. We shared the au gratin potatoes.
Of course, the staff ensured we had plenty of hot, fresh French bread. Yum.
I was gifted a scoop of ice cream in a lovely caramelized sugar cup which my husband devoured.😁
I ordered the white chocolate bread pudding which was decadent and absolutely delicious!
This was a lovely evening in a beautiful and traditional style steakhouse; lots of gorgeous, expensive dark wood, white linen tablecloths, and the perfect amount of lighting.
We’re so grateful for all the attentive staff, including the managers, with a special thanks to Jorge! ☺️
We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this restaurant for a wonderful dining experience!❤️

3/9/26 This was my first visit to Dickie Brennan's because when I'm in New Orleans I typically look for French Cajun food. I'd heard good things about Dickie Brennan's and love a good steakhouse so I switched it up on this trip and I'm glad I did. We started off with the BBQ Shrimp which were perfectly prepared (don't let the heads bother you, the chefs separated the shrimp and replaced the heads for presentation). I didn't care for the grit cake, but that is just a personal taste thing. We had to try their turtle soup and I think it was some of the best I've had with more turtle meat than others I've had. I ordered the ribeye which is my go to cut when dining at a good steakhouse. The preparation with the Cajun seasoning was fantastic! This was the best ribeye I've had in a long time. I wrapped up with the chocolate cake and added a scope of vanilla ice cream because I'm not a rookie 😁. I don't usually love chocolate mousse in a cake, but this was exceptional. I think the hazelnut crunch really added something unique that combined with the cake and salted caramel ganache produced a tremendous flavor profile. While this was my first visit to Dickie Brennan's, it sure won't be my last. And a special mention of our waiter, Nick, who served us with excellence and Louisiana hospitality throughout the evening with great recommendations when asked.
