This is a reservation only restaurant in the wine cellar of a phenomenally stocked deli near Plaza Navona. The dining area is cozy but comfortable and offers many of the cured meats that one walks by on the wat to the restaurant. We started out with a bread bowl which had a delicious selection of breads and was accompanied by fine salami, soft cheese and pesto. We then has the tasty fried oxtail stew stuffed flowers and pastas (Greek, similar to Cacio e Pepe and Amatriciana). The meal was rounded out with delectable desserts - tiramisu and luxardo cherry ice cream with herbal tea and espresso. Would definitely eat there again!
The food was excellent, especially the Carbonara! It was exploding with flavor. One suggestion would be to try and get a table not in the actual deli area. While it’s cool to be able to see the meat being shaved and cheese plates being prepared, it was really hot in that area and felt chaotic and crowded with people coming in the door waiting to be seated.
Food was good although overall, a bit pricy. My favourite thing today was the bread basket. The menu is a lot to take in but give yourself some time to navigate it and you’ll be fine. If you don’t get a booking, they have a sandwich shop down the road which seemed more affordable for the same cold cuts.
Wow what an amazing dinning experience ⭐️
Market style restaurant
I went solo and was sat at the bar seating. It was a lively experience watching the servers bustle around and the chefs slice meat and prepare dishes!
The Cacio e Pepe did not disappoint and the mozzarella was by far the best I have had in Rome
Roscioli is simply the best! I’ve visited three times in Rome: 2005, 2017 and 2026 and each time the quality and taste have been impeccable. Their pasta is amazing, particularly the cacio e pepe, and their tiramisu is always a memorable treat.
The atmosphere is fantastic and the staff are incredibly friendly and happy to answer any menu questions.
Until next time…
