A very beautiful place with a cozy and unique atmosphere. It's only 3mins from the cathedral. We visited as a group of 6 people and everything we tried was absolutely delicious. The portions were very generous. We ordered the Forestière and the 3 Fromages from the poêlées de rösti, and both were incredibly tasty and satisfying. The space itself is wonderful and really charming, and the staff were extremely kind and welcoming. Highly recommended!

I would like to express my sincere disappointment with our recent dining experience at this establishment. Our expectations were high, especially as I have previously (2 yeats ago) enjoyed the traditional baeckeoffe dish, which I found to be exceptional, back then. I had been eagerly anticipating this occasion throughout the week. Upon arrival, we received some pretzels, and after the first course was served, one of the staff members collected them and reseated the remaining pretzels on the table for reuse with another party. This practice raises concerns regarding hygiene standards, as it does not align with proper food safety protocols. From the very beginning, the experience did not meet our expectations. I started with the escargot, which was overly oily, lacked adequate seasoning, and did not have a distinctive flavor profile. My husband's salad was also somewhat underwhelming. When it came time for the main courses, I was particularly eager to enjoy the baeckeoffe; however, it fell short of expectations. The potatoes were burnt rather than properly charred, and the sauce was predominantly wine-based without proper balance or preparation. The meat consisted mainly of bones and gristle, making it inedible and quite disappointing. Regrettably, I was unable to eat any portion of it. For dessert, we ordered Münster cheese, which had a satisfactory flavor, though we were not provided with the appropriate cheese knife. My husband's main dish, a haxe, was served with an excessive amount of sauce, and the crust was virtually absent. His dessert consisted of two scoops of ice cream, which he could not finish, despite his usual enjoyment of ice cream. Additionally, my white wine was served at room temperature and did not meet the standard quality we typically expect. Furthermore, when a server cleared our table, she inquired about our experience. We shared our concerns, and she apologized; however, didn't feel she really cared. Subsequently, she brought us baguette pieces after our main course, which was quite perplexing. Overall, we found the handling of our evening to be surprisingly unsatisfactory given our previous positive experiences 2 years ago. In summary, this experience was quite disheartening, as we had genuinely looked forward to a memorable evening. Unfortunately, it seems that the quality standards have declined compared to our previous visit.

The setting is a fun change up. A real carnivore will do fine- my partner had a meat platter and found it generally good- if there was a rating for just the mustard, it would get five stars. I was challenged to get anything vegetable forward. The plate of salads was nice, admittedly. If you see the option of salmon with sauerkraut, I would suggest just getting a bigger salad instead.

Easily one of my favorite meals of the entire trip. The food was absolutely fantastic, the interior was very memorable, and the service was decent as well. Potato rosti was cheese overload, exactly what I like and it was delightful to start the meal with. The baeckoffe was excellent, my waedele was sooo savory and hearty, and the seafood choucroute was more bland but in a good way - just solid, simple flavors. The interior of the restaurant is obviously very striking and we got to sit on the upper level which provided excellent views of the entire place. All in all, I can’t recommend this place enough – if you’re in Strasbourg, definitely make a reservation and come and enjoy yourself!
