Upon arrival, there were other guests checking in, and I was more than happy to wait until they had finished. However, we were not greeted or acknowledged, nor were we asked to wait in the lobby seating area. After around 10 minutes, a member of staff asked whether we would like some water, but there was no apology for the wait.
Most of the staff throughout the stay were very friendly and welcoming.
This isn’t an issue with the hotel itself, but rather the surrounding area. There are quite a lot of ticks, so if you’re bringing your dog, I’d recommend wearing long trousers and checking both yourself and your pet thoroughly after walks.
The food was generally good, and I would particularly recommend the Brasserie. We also dined at 1887, which was decent but not exceptional. The service got off to a poor start—one of the waiters accidentally splashed champagne on me, and we also had to remind the staff to bring the wine list. Some of the dishes were excellent, while others were fairly ordinary, so overall I’d describe it as an average UK Michelin-starred experience.
Checkout was smooth and efficient, and one highlight worth mentioning is the hotel’s impressive collection of whiskies and gins, which is extensive and well worth exploring.

Without question, one of the most stunning places we have ever had the privilege of staying in. Every detail reflects true 5 star hospitality, from the impeccable service to the breathtaking setting surrounded by some of the most beautiful landscapes in Scotland.
The décor throughout the hotel is elegant, refined and full of character. The staff were warm, attentive and incredibly well trained, making the entire experience feel seamless from beginning to end.
The restaurant itself was a highlight of the stay, a true experience on its own, with outstanding food and atmosphere.
Everything felt thoughtfully curated and exactly as a luxury hotel experience should be. A truly memorable stay, and somewhere we will absolutely return to in the future.

Stayed for 2 nights in early July and were lucky enough to come across some nice, sunny weather - particularly when hiking out on the trails then clay pigeon shooting for an hour (first time and very professional and safe management) then having a drink outside.
Overall, a really nice property with excellent accommodation in The Stables. Quiet and comfortable, a beautiful historic main house with well-stocked whiskey bar (but you can get wide selection of beers, wines, coffees & teas) that is manned by knowledgeable, hardworking and friendly staff. The reception staff were also welcoming and friendly throughout our entire stay.
Lovely breakfast is served in the main house, but we only ate dinner in Bo & Muc brasserie which has a really interesting and fresh menu. Not overly priced either given the status and location.
The only unexpected letdown was some of the staff (not all) at breakfast and in the brasserie. Appeared to be a lack of training and knowledge. For example, all guests constantly had to ask for items at breakfast as staff weren’t proactive in checking small buffet, or delivered wrong food to tables, or simply forgot to bring coffees. In the brasserie, the server simply appeared with the meals and said “who is having what..” rather than knowing exactly who was having each dish. Similar to breakfast, they never checked wihether more water or anything was needed, and you constantly had to get their attention if you wanted something. At least one of them had been there at least one year but it seemed like one week! Again, not all staff as others were excellent, attentive and super friendly. It was just a surprise amd not sure how they manage with the 1887 Michelin * restaurant in the main house.
So some improvements needed but these are small things in the bigger picture. A fantastic stay and would definitely like to visit again.

Our room was beautifully appointed, combining traditional charm with modern comfort. Everything was spotless, well thought out, and incredibly cozy. It was clear that great attention had been paid to even the smallest details.
Dining at the hotel was another highlight. The food was exceptional—fresh, locally sourced, and expertly prepared. Each meal felt like an experience in itself, and the service in the restaurant was just as impressive as the cuisine.
What truly makes The Torridon stand out, however, is the staff. Every member of the team went above and beyond to ensure we had a memorable stay. Their friendliness, knowledge, and willingness to help made all the difference.
Overall, The Torridon is a truly special place that offers a perfect blend of luxury, comfort, and natural beauty. I would not hesitate to return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique and relaxing getaway

Lovely location, staff and room. We felt pampered by the staff. Enjoyed the Bo & Muc during our stay ( great food and service). We are visiting all hotels on the Amazing Hotels UK show and Torridon wins. The highland Coos were cute. The walking trail was detailed and picturesque. Will be back!!
