We love Shaya! We came here once because it was previously on the chase sapphire reserve dining credit list. Sadly it is no longer eligible for the credit, but it was so good that we came back on our next trip to NOLA.
We are vegan and there was plenty of options for us. This time we got the muhammara, cauliflower hummus, falafel, fries, and brussels sprouts. This was the perfect amount of food because along with all these, they give you FREE pitas with herb dipping oil. We are not sure how many pitas you could get total for free but we had around 4 total for the two of us which was plenty. The pita is fresh and delicious and what makes the restaurant so special. Besides the pita the standout option was the muhamarra, but everything was amazing.
We preferred going at lunch when it was less crowded and we could get the giant falafel sandwich that comes with fries for only $16. That was a much better deal than the dinner falafel 3 pieces for $13. But we were still able to order the side of fries which were soft and delicious, seasoned very well.
It also has very fancy vibes for the good value, highly recommend!
This is clearly a very popular Middle Eastern restaurant, and I’d definitely recommend making reservations if you plan to visit. I was dining alone and was fortunate enough to grab a seat at the bar.
I started with the Mediterranean salad, which was light and refreshing. For the main course, I had the chicken leg and thigh served with aromatic rice, charred green onions, pistachios, pecans, and tzatziki — a really flavorful and well-balanced dish. The complimentary pita was also a highlight, especially knowing it’s baked fresh in the wood-fired oven visible from the dining area.
Overall, a great dining experience and well worth the visit.

Unexpectedly excellent elevated middle eastern dinner at this elegant spot. High points of the meal were the pita bread and the Lebanese flat bread with pomegranate molasses, both freshly baked in the wood burning oven and the cauliflower and caramelized onion hummus. The flavors were authentic to the style but more refined and balanced than expected. The hibiscus and passion fruit iced tea was refreshing. The cocktails were just ok. Still very much worth the trip.

Top tier experience. Original and classic mideastern foods but with southern flare. The fresh baked pita bread is light and fluffy and pairs perfectly with the mezze and hummus plates. The lamb shank, chicken leg & thigh and hangar steak each have unique elements which make them stand out. Immersive drink and cocktail options and an indoor/outdoor covered patio dining space really make this a beautiful experience. Loved it!
