The Tavern at Heathman offers great food at very reasonable prices. We are so thankful to find a dog friendly hotel like the Heathman. You can order food from the restaurant and eat in the library of the hotel with the dog. Everyone at the hotel loves dogs and are so welcoming. Lucy at the Tavern really took care of us and made our stay here so enjoyable!
We will definitely be back!
Busy Monday night, 6:15 pm reservation, short staffed, 7:30 Yo-Yo Ma curtain looming. Justin still got us out the door on time without making it feel rushed! That's a pro.
We split the calamari ($16, a fair price) and the halibut ($46, a bit steep). Both excellent. The calamari comes with shishito peppers, which is exactly how I do calamari, either that or banana peppers. The halibut was perfectly executed and the veggie side was WOW. We shared both, had water only, and landed at $74 including tip.
NOTE: Heathman Hotel guests get a $15 dining credit, which helps. But, that comes out of the $30 "Resort fee", making that fee, while unnecessary, sting less rather than disappearing entirely.
The renovation, though! The cozy integrated spaces with books woven into the dining room are gone. It's also louder now, the kind of loud that makes conversation a little more difficult than before. A open plan with modern restaurant noise levels doesn't match the hotel's 1920s dark wood sophistication. Lost a little ambiance.
Four and a half stars overall. Justin and the kitchen deserve five. The renovation brings it back down to earth.

Fridays and Saturdays say dinner till 10 -not the case. We came in at 8 :50 and they had stopped serving dinner. Only happy hour. The lobster bisque was just cold broth with way too much oil and NO lobster whatsoever. 0/10 on the bisque don’t order it- but the salad and the calamari and margarita were all great!

This is a hotel restaurant but the food was really good. We had the breakfast sandwich on a Saturday morning and they unintentionally had one server, but the service was on point. Connie managed her eleven tables like it was nothing to her. Even with everybody arriving at similar times the coffee, orders, and food were still quick and seamless. 15 stars for service and the food was great as well.

When your body or whim gives you a food desire and they are exceeded. In the moment this Pumpkin Oatmeal is the best I have ever experienced!
