Blue Plate Taco was one of the highlights of our time in Venice Beach! The margaritas were absolutely amazing, be warned though, they’re very strong! We also loved that the sparkling mineral water was imported from Mexico, which added a nice authentic touch.
As vegetarians, we had plenty of great options. The vegetarian nachos were incredible, and we also ordered the vegetarian bean tacos, which were delicious and a great source of protein. The vegetarian quesadilla was equally tasty.
The staff were genuinely friendly, happy, and attentive throughout our visit, creating such a welcoming atmosphere. On top of that, the music selection was fantastic and really added to the whole beach vibe.
If you’re looking for great Mexican food, excellent drinks, and a fun atmosphere in Venice Beach, this place is definitely worth visiting!
The servers were wonderful and attentive even as more people came into the restaurant to eat and watch the World Cup. The food was good and served quickly, the water was crisp, the horchata was the perfect amount of flavorful, and we redeemed our free half guac and chips (thanks Samo Brian!) with no issue at all.

Blue Plate Taco was a mixed experience, but with some highlights.
The fish taco was excellent — definitely the standout dish. The nachos, on the other hand, were just average — not bad, but nothing particularly memorable.
What really elevates the place are the views, which are absolutely amazing and make it a great spot to sit back and enjoy the setting.
Overall, worth it for the fish tacos and the scenery.

We were seated promptly outside. The server was really good and even the manager. The food was so fresh I had the shrimp tacos my husband had the chicken tacos. Then two margaritas on margarita Day. Our new place when visiting Santa Monica.

We absolutely loved the food at Blue Plate Taco. The Tacos were on point and the refried beans were tasty.
We chose the beef and chicken tacos and we were not disappointed by either the portion sizes or the taste.
The decor is stylish and the staff were super friendly!
