We had the most amazing spring brunch wedding reception at Woodberry Kitchen this past March! It was absolutely beautiful and could not have been more perfect. Jolanta and her team were spot on with every detail, and the food was to die for! We can’t thank them enough for making our day so special!
We went to the tavern for brunch a few weeks before the wedding which was also super cute and tasty!
We first visited Tavern at Woodberry a couple of years ago and remembered it as one of those places you can't wait to come back to. So naturally, we were excited for round two. Unfortunately, this visit felt like meeting an old friend who's...changed.
The restaurant seemed much smaller than we remembered, and the lively atmosphere we enjoyed last time had been replaced by a quieter, more subdued vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing, just different from what had stuck in our memories.
The service, however, was excellent from start to finish. Friendly, attentive, and easily one of the highlights of the evening. Dessert also finished the meal on a high note.
The fish and chips, though, didn't quite hit the mark. The batter was noticeably greasy and slid off the fish after the first couple of bites, leaving us chasing pieces around the plate. The "chips" were also more like roasted potatoes—large wedges stacked in what can only be described as a Lincoln Log engineering project.
Then came the bill. The itemized receipt showed we had been charged more for the fish than the menu listed. When we asked, we were told we'd accidentally been given the lunch menu...at dinner. 🤔 To their credit, they corrected it without hesitation, but it was an odd ending to the meal.
Overall, still a good experience thanks to the great service, but it didn't quite recapture the magic we remembered from our first visit.

The Uber took us away from the city and into a cozy neighborhood. We arrived a few minutes early and witnessed the farm being delivered to the table. The lady in the truck made several trips of baked items and produce to the kitchen. It was a little too warm for us to sit outside so we were seated inside the rustic building that was clean and well appointed. Our server was gracious and knew every dish. A home made blueberry pop tart, a soft shell crab eggs Benedict, a fried oyster, egg and cheese skillet, great coffee, at the end of our vacation it may have been the best meal we had in Baltimore.

Stunning location and friendly service. I would say I had a good time despite the food though. I came for brunch today and ordered a menu item described as pork belly, fried oysters, and farm egg. Sounded good, I love all that stuff. Turns out it was actually a frittata with those ingredients inside. The only issue being the word “frittata” or anything describing a baked egg dish was not described on the menu at all. But hey, no worries, I try the dish. The egg was very dry and overcooked. The fried oysters in the egg made the whole dish taste fishy. I had lots of leftovers and chose not to take them home (on a $23 brunch entree). Overall had a good time, but the food was disappointing and I do not feel like I got good value out of what I paid for this meal. Again, ambiance and service were awesome, but perhaps temper expectations regarding the food.

Woodberry Kitchen is such an incredible experience!
The food here is always incredible and I’ve come many times for personal reservations at the tavern and as a wedding photographer for micro weddings in their gathering space! The team has always been kind and helpful and incredible to work with.
How cool is it that you could have a unique and beautiful wedding here and then get to come back for all your future celebrations at the Tavern?
It is one of my favorite venues in Baltimore to photographer for both smaller micro weddings and larger traditional weddings and it’s filled with the industrial Baltimore charm!
Whether it’s for brunch, an intimate dinner, or your big day, you can’t go wrong celebrating at Woodberry!
