The Little Chartroom

An absolutely wonderful find on outskirts of the city, and so worth a trip to this superb restaurant. We had the 5 course tasting menu, the flavours worked amazingly well, a fantastic culinary experience. Each course was lovingly introduced by the waiting staff, you felt they had actually prepared it themselves they knew every ingredient, which demonstrates the love of their food from chef to staff. A lovely ambiance in the resaurant, so would be the ideal location for any special occasion, or if you just want to indulge yourself in a wonderful dining experience.

Thoroughly enjoyable meal at the little chartroom. The service and the atmosphere was very warm throughout the meal, and the vibe was relaxed but special. The food was extremely good too, with all our dishes cooked very well, and providing a good mix of flavours and textures throughout. We’d definitely dine here again in the future.

The set menu was fabulous. Service left much to be desired. Midway though we felt they lost our table in the shuffle. We were asked to wait for a sommelier to help choose a bottle of wine and after 30 minutes of waiting, asked for said sommelier, to which the server said they are not available but he himself can help. (??!) Allot at least 2.5hrs for a three course lunch.

Absolutely amazing! We were looking to try a delicious meal while in Edinburgh and were so excited for the Little Chartroom. The restaurant was warm, inviting, and relaxed. The food was phenomenal! We had several delicious plates and can’t say enough about how tasty everything was. The bonus was being able to see the cooks at work, which for someone like me was a major plus.

A Little Gem - Lunch at The Little Chartroom was a really lovely experience. It's a small, intimate space and was absolutely buzzing when we visited — but despite being full, the service was excellent throughout and we never felt anything other than completely looked after. The food was beautiful from start to finish. The beef tartare to start, duck as a main and a stunning chocolate dessert — each course better than the last. All paired with really exceptional wines, chosen with the expert guidance of our French sommelier who was knowledgeable, warm and genuinely great company. As well as steering us brilliantly through the wine list, she took the time to walk us through the nautical charts on the wall, which added a wonderful extra layer to the whole experience. That kind of personal touch is what elevates a good meal into a truly memorable one. A brilliant Edinburgh restaurant doing things properly. We will absolutely be back.
