Made a comeback to this café after two whole years! It’s such a famous spot that during my last visit, even though there wasn’t a queue, the terrace was completely packed, so I had to take my order to a nearby park. I still vividly remember how beautifully they packaged everything back then, which left such a wonderful impression that I just had to return!
This time, I visited on a Saturday afternoon. The staff took our order downstairs (you pay on your way out!), and we were guided to the upper floor, where we managed to snag a table. The table turnover is surprisingly quick, so people come and go pretty fast. We ordered an English Breakfast tea, scones, and a strawberry cheesecake. The scones were, as expected, absolutely legendary! Having a proper cream tea after such a long time was pure bliss. Another huge plus is that if you need more hot water or milk for your tea, you can just ask the staff, and they’ll top it up right away—we actually asked for a milk refill once. The secret to a perfect scone is the harmony between the clotted cream and strawberry jam, and their clotted cream is incredibly rich and delicious.
But the real hidden gem of the day was the almond croissant we ordered on a whim. Apparently, it’s a low-key favorite here! It was quite big, and the nutty flavor of the almonds paired perfectly with the flaky, crispy pastry. Next time I come back, ordering the scone and the almond croissant together is a non-negotiable. Plus, the atmosphere is so cozy and it’s a fantastic place for a proper catch-up. Such a satisfying visit! ☕️🧁✨
I just love this place it’s a must visit every time I come to London.
There is indoor and outdoor seating and wherever you sit you really feel the atmosphere and that tea room experience.
They take such pride in their bakes here and everything is delicious. The hardest part is choosing what to have.
I’m a big fan of the cherry pastry and the almond croissant.
The lady owner is so lovely and friendly and will tell which pastries she thinks have come out best that day.
It’s all baked fresh on the premises upstairs and there are trays of scones and cakes waiting to be put on display or served
I would say this is a must visit.
absolutely worth it!! if you’re nearby and looking for a place to have a cup of coffee before the theatre evening at west end - this is a place for you. even 30 minutes before closing there was still left a good choice of pastry
Oh my god CLOTTED CREAM! And the best scones I've ever had! The staff is so nice too! If you're looking for a quiet breakfast place, come here! There's sitting room downstairs and upstairs.
Wonderful pastry shop, delicious cakes! Nice staff! Quiet street where you can relax with tea and cakes! I didn't have time to take a photo of the cakes, they were too delicious. Thanks!
