Madras Spices

The service vary depending on the staff. The first time I went there the lady staff was very warm and nice. The food was 4/5 and gives value for your money. Curry and rice won’t run out and drinks were available too. But we went there again today (Saturday) just around 12:30 and everything was almost out. What happened? It was supposed to be an eat-all-you can and it was still early for your male staff to tell us that you won’t refill the mango lassi anymore and that “everyone was drinking it” that’s why you ran out. Not only that, we were waiting for the meat to be refilled but they did not do it, salad was zero too. We just sat for 30 mins waiting for everything to be refilled but to no avail. That’t why we just decided to pay and then this happened…wasn’t it rude for you’re staff to put my card on the table and the receipt too? I would definitely NOT return to this restaurant anymore. And I don’t recommend this, too if you want a good customer service you’ll be disapointed. Please be more accomodating. We are customers.

Very affordable and deliciously well prepared food. Dishes were just right

This is an all-you-can-eat Indian curry restaurant I visited in Nagoya's Nishiki district. It's a buffet style restaurant offering freshly baked naan, turmeric rice, and side dishes, allowing you to enjoy a variety of flavors. There are six types of curry: egg curry, mutton curry, butter chicken curry, spinach curry, lentil curry, and fish curry. The mutton curry had just the right amount of spiciness and was my favorite. The butter chicken was on the sweeter side, the spinach curry was creamy and easy to eat, and the lentil and fish curries were just average.

I stayed at the APA Hotel and enjoyed the breakfast buffet at the Madras Spice restaurant on the first floor. What was particularly impressive was the all-you-can-eat authentic curry available from the morning! Several types of curry, naan, and rice were lined up, allowing you to enjoy as much as you like. The butter chicken curry was mild and easy to eat even in the morning. What was even better was that Nagoya specialties like chicken wings and doteni (beef tendon stew) were also on the breakfast menu. The chicken wings were juicy and flavorful, and the doteni was rich and delicious, making it a perfect accompaniment to rice. The menu featured many Nagoya specialties, enhancing the feeling of being on vacation. Besides curry and Nagoya specialties, there was also a wide variety of salads, Japanese and Western dishes, and desserts, allowing for a well-balanced breakfast. The restaurant was spacious and clean, making for a comfortable start to the day.

I saw a video of Madras Spice on TikTok and was intrigued, so I searched for it and found one nearby, which I decided to try. The lunch menu offered three types of curry, served with rice and naan. *The staff asked me, "Would you like naan?" and I replied, "I'm fine with rice," but it didn't seem to get across... I was given freshly baked naan, which was delicious. The set meal, including salad and unlimited soft drinks, for 1,000 yen was a great deal!
