Oh man I love this place. I found it when I was walking around in North Market. I got the chocolate croissant, orange and chocolate croissant, pistachio croissant, cinnamon rolls croissant and something else I don’t remember the name. They’re a bit pricey but I totally understand why and gladly pay what they charge. Highly highly recommend this place.
This new bakery in the North Market impressed us with their amazing croissants. I have never had the London fog flavor before. Their London fog croissant made me feel that this flavor will be my top choice for every pastry. The croissant also had an amazing texture of flour. Some samples of bread were given. They also had some to-go breads, wraps, and catering service.
Littleton’s Bakery in the North Market is a gem! From delicious sweet treats to wonderful bread options. The case is visually pleasing and the pastries are top notch. Some of my favorites have been the passion fruit tart, bacon cheddar chive biscuit and specialty croissants. They make everything in house from scratch and take great care in creating beautiful and enjoyable baked goods. The sourdough breads and dinner rolls are a must try too!
Super disappointed. I stopped by today really excited to try the coffee cake since I seen one through the beautiful display. I walked up to the cashier who decided to finish typing her text message before acknowledging me at the register. I asked for a coffee cake and instead of grapping on from the freshly baked tray she gave me one from the display that was very hard and cold and I had to couldn’t even peal the paper off I had to break the entire thing in half.
Just picked up the West Coast Sourdough City Loaf from Littleton's Market Bakery and it did not disappoint!
What I loved most is how clean the ingredients are. Just five simple things:
- Unbleached, unbromated flour
- Water
- Sourdough starter (also unbleached, unbromated flour and water)
- Salt
- A touch of avocado oil (as a processing aid)
No preservatives, no dough conditioners, no added sugars, and no potassium bromate (which is banned in many countries but still legal in the US). It's the kind of honest ingredient list you want from a real artisan bakery.
The loaf itself is wonderful - great crust, soft open crumb inside, and that signature sourdough tang done just right. At $9 for a generous 1.09 lb loaf, it's fairly priced for the quality you're getting.
Highly recommend if you're looking for a proper sourdough made the right way. I'll definitely be coming back!
