I went to Leunig's for the first time on vacation in 2022, and their poutine, pork loin, and French onion soup blew me away, we ended up returning the next night. I have since dreamed of the amazing meal we had outside at Leunig's, so when we returned to Vermont in June 2026, that was the most important stop.
We sat inside this time, on an annex of the main dining room where the windows opened up. They play great jazz! We got the onion soup (yum), a delicious cherry cocktail, steak frites, and the eggs benedict and it was all fantastic.
However, the service was the real star this visit. Our server Morgan was AMAZING from the start. I told her I was on the fence between the gazpacho and soup and asked for her opinion, we chatted and she recommended the soup as it's a classic there. A few minutes later, she appeared with a small cup of gazpacho and told me foodie to foodie, she wanted me to try it so I could see how it tasted. W O W !!!!!!! A small gesture that went 10,000 miles!!!! It was delicious, and our hearts were full at that point too. The drink was so tasty and I mentioned how delicious the cherries were, so she grabbed extras and brought them to the table.
We simply couldn't stop talking about Morgan and our lunch at Leunig's the rest of the trip. It absolutely lived up to the memories from 4 years ago and we will have the fondest memories from this meal and trip, too! Don't skip this place when visiting Burlington :)

I loved the Strawberry-Rhubarb Quinoa & Burrata Salad. It was very refreshing, filling and flavorful! The wait staff were very nice and it was all around a pleasureful experience to come to Leunig's Bistro on the last leg of our trip.
Solid four stars, we had the beef Bourgogne. Presentation was beautiful in its own cast iron Dutch oven. Crystal served us at the bar and was on point. Thank you!
I would have rated a five but wished it had been hotter. Thought it would be steaming hot in the cast iron. French style sauce could have been more flavorful and more sauce would be great.
Still very good. Would definitely try again.
Drinks & crab cakes were amazing. The poutine had such an unnecessary amount of rosemary and was served with the duck, sauce, and fries all at different temps. The duck was really good, but was kind of cold. Would have skipped the sesame tuna. Service was overbearing. It’s a beautiful place.
