Hidden Gem in Burlington!
What a fantastic experience at Bistro de Margot! From the moment we walked in, it was clear that Herve is 100% dedicated to his passion and it shows in every detail.
We enjoyed a lovely dinner with our family, and everything exceeded our expectations. The food was more than excellent, beautifully prepared, full of flavor, and clearly made with high quality ingredients.
The service was warm, attentive, and went above and beyond what we anticipated.
This is the kind of authentic, heartfelt dining experience that makes you want to come back again and again. Every penny was well worth it.
Highly recommend Bistro de Margot for a special night out or a memorable family meal. We will definitely be returning soon!
We tried Bistro de Margot for the first time last night and had a lovely experience. Our waitress was incredible. She was the only one there (including making drinks and acting as hostess) and you did not sense an ounce of stress or rush in her presence.
Every course was incredible. Chef Herve delivered our main course which was a special treat. At the end of our meal he came out to check on us and we had a lovely conversation with him for 15 or so minutes. It is clear this restaurant is his passion and he cares deeply about making his guests feel like family. He even told us he closes the restaurant when he travels because he does not want to miss any experience with his guests while he is gone.
Anyway…. I HIGHLY recommend if you are looking for amazing food, but also a great overall dining experience.

We were greeted warmly and seated promptly at this quaint French restaurant. Although small, it was nicely decorated with comfortable spacing for conversation. Our servers Clara and Maddie were very friendly and helpful. We chose the very reasonable price fixe dining option which allowed 3 selections off the standard menu unlike a more limited menu as in most restaurants. We started with the tomato heirloom salad and the smoked scalloped carpaccio. The food was delicious, not too salty and not overpowering either. Chef Hervé personally came to make sure we were happy. There were great seafood options unlike most French cuisine and our halibut was delightful. The housemade sorbet made for an excellent finish with unique flavors of raspberry jalapeño and apricot basil to satisfy the palate. When visiting Burlington, VT Bistro de Margot is a must … bravo!

Excellent French restaurant. Pricey but great food and service for a special night that we thoroughly enjoyed. We had the steak frites and duck - both cooked perfectly. Peach tart and sorbet for dessert.

Bistro de Margot is truly a gem. We have dined at restaurants through the U.S. and Europe, and Bistro de Margot remains our favorite place to dine. Chef Herve and his staff are superb, and the food is always excellent. His classic French dishes are always perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. The space is elegant but the atmosphere is always welcoming and comfortable--never stuffy. We are so fortunate to have this truly authentic French restaurant so nearby, and we are grateful to Chef Herve and his excellent staff for making our recent visit (on June 25th) so enjoyable--as always.
