I went here because I read that it was the inspiration for one of the sets of the movie "Your Name".
Architecturally, it truly is beautiful. Just from the outside you can see the high windows and Art Nouveau ironwork and lights.
I went without a reservation on a Monday around 1pm and there was a line outside with about 10 people in front of me. I think I got in around 30 mins. later.
Once you're inside, you're looking at high ceilings and there's a second level that seems exclusively for food preparation even though I saw booth seating up in the balcony as well. The ambience is quite romantic.
As for the food, it's mostly pasta, pizza, desserts, and drinks. As a vegetarian, I ordered the Margherita pizza and had spinach as an add on.
The cost was affordable. The pizza was 2,035 yen ($12.75) after tax and the spinach add on was 385 yen ($2.41) after tax, which came to a total of 2,420 yen ($15.16) after tax since I didn't order a drink and just drank water and tipping isn't expected in Japan.
I thought it was exciting seeing the waiters dressed like in the movie and also going up and down the stairs with the trays of food even though that must be quite a workout.
The only thing that ruined this otherwise wonderful visit was a grumpy old man who was absolutely seething with rage that I was taking so many pictures. I've heard the phrase "killjoy" before and now I truly felt what it was like to have someone kill my joy. He wasn't even seated yet. He was just sitting by the podium waiting to be seated, but apparently, the flash from my camera pissed him off to the high heavens. Normally, I wouldn't use the flash, but it was a bit dim inside since the curtains were drawn and I really wanted to document my time here. I thought he might be mad thinking I took a picture of him, so I pointed up to say "No, I'm taking a picture of the decorations," but without saying a word to me, he gave me his angriest scowl and did the X sign with his arms. After that, I stopped and felt a pit in my stomach to the point that I could barely enjoy my meal. Meanwhile, there weren't any signs saying photos weren't allowed. Besides, I was clearly a tourist elated to be here. Why in the world would you take that away from me? I try to console myself with the belief that what goes around comes around. You can't put that much negative energy into the world and not have it kick you back in butt at some point.
Anyway...The restaurant, food, and service were good. I'm trying to remember all that despite having a wretched old man spoil it for me.
Went there without reservation on weekend, waited approximately 30 minutes! Ordered pasta lunch set with dessert, and the food arrived in about 10 to 15 minutes, very fast service and attentive staff. Pasta was super tasty and felt young vibes inside. Environment was super noisy and felt exhausted hearing loud background music and loud chatting of customers. May be not a good place to feel relaxed.
I chose this restaurant for lunch, prompted by its "appearance" in the film Your Name. The location is very elegant, there are large windows that let in a lot of light and the theme of contact with nature is recalled several times, as if you were eating in the middle of a beautiful park. The service very good. Friendly, smiling and quick staff, both in serving dishes and managing customer comfort. The menu is quite extensive, with appetizers, pizzas, first courses, salads, second courses, desserts and drinks. I chose the set lunch menu with a salad, a carbonara, an apple pie and a coca-cola. In total I paid 2860 yen for the set. Maybe a little expensive but considering the raw materials and the excellent food, I'm satisfied. I will definitely return for another lunch or maybe a nice dinner. If you want to be pampered with delicious food, I recommend this restaurant.
Thanks Ayaka-san for her great hospitality, she’s made our visit there even more memorable. Loved foods & all very nice staffs working there. We came to see what we’ve seen in the movie “Your Name” in real life, and it actually was quite good!
This was the first time I went there for birthday celebration. The interiors and atmosphere is amazing. Although music sometimes sounds a bit loud but overall goes with the vibe.
We ordered margarita pizza, risotto, quinoa salad, seafood carpaccio, coffee, ginger ale, lemonade, beer and tomato spaghetti. Also birthday dessert platter.
Everything was fresh and delicious. I would like to visit again.
