We stayed at Hotel Indigo Baton Rouge Downtown by IHG during our visit to Baton Rouge and really enjoyed our time here. The hotel sits in the heart of downtown and delivers a nice balance of modern comfort with touches that reflect the character of historic Baton Rouge.
Our room was clean and comfortable, with thoughtful amenities like a coffee maker and free Wi-Fi, making it easy to relax after a full day of exploring. The staff was friendly and welcoming throughout our stay, which added to the relaxed and easygoing feel of the place.
The location is excellent — a short walk from the Mississippi River and close to many sights and restaurants downtown. There’s also an on-site restaurant and bar if you feel like grabbing a drink or meal without going far.
A solid choice if you want a central, well-run hotel with good service while discovering the city.
Very nice small room downtown. The decor is awesome and the service was phenomenal. Have to pay for parking, which was quite expensive for overnight. In the middle of downtown, lots of activity. Should really only stay here if you have a need to be near all the activities. Was not really appropriate for my needs- just somewhere to sleep at night. A little more high end than that.
Great location downtown you can walk to several places. They also have a shuttle. The rooms are nicely appointed but very small. We lucked up on the Mardi Gras parade which was on the street in front of the hotel so you could head down to the street level or stay in your room and observe. I also loved the proximity to the river. There was a small convenience area where I purchased water and a full restaurant which I did not get a chance to visit. The hotel was pretty quiet. The front desk and housekeeping staff were very nice and attentive.
I usually stay at Hilton and Marriott hotels, but decided to give this Indigo a try.
The hotel was quite new or recently renovated. It had a clear design language that made the hotel seem fun and lively.
Except when we arrived, the staff were anything but. There were two staffs there , and both saw us but decided to go back to their phone and computer. When we talked to them they were not rude, they just felt tired. The energy level of the staff next morning were better, though still notably more passive and less approachable than hotels of similar tier, with the exception of one young man who was actively helping with a smile. I’m sure service experience varies by each individual staff member, but overall I feel the management of this Indigo can be improved.
And back to about the room: they were really small, and the air conditioner was very loud.
Amazing time here. Stayed here for the Zack top concert. Valet guy/lady was amazing took good care of my truck. They were always on time and helpful. Snacks and pretty reasonable. Right in the heart of everywhere you need to be. Flaws my room was small to put 3 people in it only two queen beds that was super tight. Everyone was tiny together. Besides this little flaw it went by smoothly. Love the modern decore. Clean runs, Mrs Gigi was amazing at keep the rooms and hall ways super clean. Other then the flaw I will return back to this hotel
