We visited on a Wednesday afternoon with a party of six. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy, with plenty of open tables, yet the service moved at a glacial pace. While our server was attentive when present, drinks consistently lagged behind food orders. In fact, our appetizers arrived before most of the beverages, which set the tone for the rest of the meal.
I really wanted to like the food, but it was disappointingly average from start to finish. Nothing stood out as memorable, and several dishes suffered from poor execution. The schnitzel arrived visibly burned around the edges and underneath, though the kitchen did a commendable job hiding the worst of it beneath a pile of uninspired pasta. The burgers were entirely forgettable. In hindsight, when the staff suggested adding cheese so they "wouldn't be too dry," I should have taken that as a warning to order something else.
The salmon tartare was overwhelmed by sauce, tasting more like Dijon-infused mayonnaise than salmon, all piled onto oversized pieces of toast. The wedge salad with salmon was arguably the best thing we ordered, which says more about the reliability of fresh lettuce than it does about the kitchen.
At this price point, the experience simply doesn't justify the cost. There are far better places nearby serving superior burgers, schnitzel, and tartare for the same price—or less. Many of them also offer better service and a better view.
Overall, I really wanted to like this place but left disappointed and I don't think I'll be coming back there again. For anyone else considering a visit - there are better options down the street for the same price point or better - with a better view, too!!!
