Had a positively lovely afternoon at Bistro Sablé!! The atmosphere and décor with a live fireplace were phenomenal and the super attentive staff were amazing as well, helping with wine recommendations and generally being in a great mood. The food was also delicious— we had the escargot and the cheese soufflé to start, and the complimentary bread and saucisson were unbelievable too. The main was solid and the fries accompaniment dipped in the pepper gravy was a lovely combination. And, to top it all off, £5 negronis!! Will definitely be bringing friends and family here when they come to visit.
Nice food, nice outdoor seating. Felt a bit Parisian in the middle of north London.
The cabbage with panko and Comte was so delicious!! The beef and the Yorkshire pudding was super well cooked. Very reasonably priced negroni.

Some bistros in London are awfully disappointing, seemingly not run by the French or one remotely interested in their philosophy with food, but this was exactly what you're looking for.

There are dozens of places in Islington at this price point, and disturbingly few will feel like they're worth what they charge. This was such a treat, I really hope they can maintain these standards at these prices.
We went for a quick meal before hitting the theatre on Friday. Upon arrival we were welcomed by warm smiles and great atmosphere. The staff is absolutely brilliant, attentive and the food is surely to die for! The beef Bourguignone paired with a velvety mash was the star of the night, the started were delicate and tasteful, beautifully crafted and delicious. We had no space for dessert but that is only a good thing because we will be certainly be back!

The service was amazing, very knowledgable staff. But best of all; the restaurant is absolutely beautiful, such tasteful decor and a sun soaked room. Bringing some authentic French charm to north London. Will definitely be back!
