Ben & Jerry's has been my favorite ice cream for years, so I've had this location saved here on Google for a long time to visit! Finally made it here from Indiana, and after going to the Bell Blue Creamery factory (large ice cream brand in the south, and even in Indiana) in Texas last year, this Ben & Jerry's factory location was nearly a total letdown.
This location has the factory and tours (I didn't take the tour as there were none available by the time I checked online), a gift shop, and the scoop shop. I stocked up from the gift shop on many souvenirs ($60+), and then went outside to get some ice cream. The line was insane. 20ish minutes just to make it to the order window... and my large shake was $9.50. Pricey!! Normal factory pints that you buy from your local Walmart are $7 here... I buy them on sale at home for $3 and that's halfway across the US lol.
The Blue Bell Creamery in Texas sells ice cream by the scoop, and guess what the cost is? $1. That's right, $1. Won't find that here. And Blue Bell isn't cheap in the store, one of the more expensive half gallons but they still offer an awesome price at the factory.
I know Ben & Jerry's isn't cheap generally but man, the ice cream is literally made here and they charge more than my local grocery store.
Definitely a fun stop if you’re in Vermont. The factory tour gives you a good peek into how Ben & Jerry’s ice cream is made, with some interesting stories along the way. You get free samples at the end, which is a nice touch. Don’t miss the Flavor Graveyard before you leave.
Our whole family had a great time doing the ticketed tour and exploring the grounds and gift shop. We came here during a long drive to break it up, and it was the perfect fun stop to make the ride memorable. On the tour we got to try some mix-ins (cookie dough) and we got a full scoop of sample ice cream. Totally worth the ticket cost. Our tour guide was funny and knowledgeable and she seemed like she knew the place very well. Perfect activity to do for an hour or so!
Fantastic scooped ice cream. The line moves quickly. Fun store inside as well and the flavour graveyard is worth checking out for a laugh. It is suggested to buy tickets in advance if you want to check out the factory tour.
Absolutely worth it! The tour is a nice condensed 30 minutes where you learn a lot about the company, how they make the ice cream and it all ends with some ice cream, of course! I cannot recommend enough. Do book your tickets a week or two in advance, especially for the weekend, they go fast! Make sure to stop after the tour at the ice cream shop, which has a humongous selection!
