A tomato toast dish that was found to be lacking and bland by a reviewer.
Toast is sliced bread that has been browned by radiant heat. This browning, which results from a Maillard reaction, alters the bread's flavor and gives it a crispier texture. The firm surface makes it easier to spread toppings, and its warmth can help spreads reach their melting point. Toasting is also a common method used to make stale bread more palatable.
