Comfortable bed, well stocked in terms of honesty bar, coffee, water, glasses. Iron and board. Safe etc. Decor a bit tired with all floors feeling like they could do with a deep clean. Reception staff friendly and helpful. This is a busy pub and restaurant so expect some noise but our room at the back overlooking the common was lovely and quiet. Service a little random but food is excellent and worth the wait - we had dinner and two breakfasts and quality of ingredients was super. I would happily stay here again.
We had family over from Australia who were keen to have a really nice Sunday roast, so we booked The Windmill. We had two children under the age of six and a five-month-old, and the service was exceptional.
A staff member named Tom was really great. He was quick to help us with prompt flexibility and dealt with the children really well. For instance, when one of the kids wanted another colouring-in sheet, he was very quick to grab it for us.
Overall, it was a really lovely experience with great food. Again, thanks to Tom for being such a great server. This was on Sunday, the 12th of July, so it was quite a busy environment. The space was great, really child-friendly, and we would recommend it and go again, as we have done before. Thanks very much.

Went for a beautiful birthday celebration lunch with our children and grandchild. We loved the ambience and decor. Food choices were excellent and perfect for a tasty, hearty lunch. The service was excellent on such a busy day and we must commend Tom for his excellent service, attention to detail and making sure our grandson was well catered for.

A really delicious breakfast with a fresh orange juice. Our waiter Krzysia was lovely and attentive. Such a great experience, and I'd happily come back!

We came to Windmill for lunch on Friday. Decided to choose meals for summer set menu which had some great options. Steaks were cooked perfectly. Delicious drinks as well. Good service from Krzysia and Caitlin.
