Fresh and Beautiful Fruit Parfaits! 🍑🥭
We visited Takano Fruit Parlour Paferio and tried both the peach and mango parfaits.
The fresh fruit was definitely the highlight. The peaches were sweet, juicy, and incredibly soft, while the mango was rich, fragrant, and full of tropical flavor. Both parfaits had a perfect balance of fresh fruit, smooth cream, and refreshing sorbet without being overly sweet.
The presentation was beautiful and elegant, making the desserts almost too pretty to eat. You can really taste the quality and freshness of the carefully selected fruit.
A perfect place to enjoy a premium Japanese fruit dessert while shopping in Shinjuku. Both the peach and mango parfaits were excellent! 🍑🥭✨
The Fruit Connoisseur’s Edit: Sourcing Perfection at Shinjuku Takano
For anyone who understands that in Tokyo, fruit is the ultimate luxury, Shinjuku Takano Fruits Parlor (Main Store) is the definitive sanctuary. As an editor, I’m always searching for the "top 1%" of any category, and Takano’s sourcing for their seasonal programs is consistently unparalleled. We visited for their legendary strawberry season, and it was a masterclass in flavor intensity.
The Palate: The Strawberry Sourcing
We came specifically for the strawberry collection, and the quality was breathtaking. These aren't just strawberries; they are hand-selected "specimen" fruits at the peak of their brix levels.
>> The Experience: Every berry was a perfect balance of deep sweetness and a clean, floral acidity. Whether in a parfait or a shortcake, the fruit isn't just an ingredient—it's the undisputed star of the show.
>> The Verdict: There is a literal "luxury price" to pay here, but the cost-to-satisfaction ratio is undeniable. You are paying for a 120-year-old heritage of fruit expertise.
The Next Chapter: The Shizuoka Muskmelon
While the strawberries stole the spotlight this visit, the Mask Melons on display were impossible to ignore. Seeing the vibrant Shizuoka muskmelons—each one treated like a work of art—has already solidified my next visit. The "Melon Parfait" is a Takano staple, and seeing the craftsmanship at the neighboring tables made it clear that this is the parlor's "hero" piece.
Editor’s Tip: The wait for the Main Store can be significant during the weekend. Aim for a weekday afternoon to fully appreciate the "quiet luxury" of the space. Also, keep an eye out for their limited-run strawberry courses if you’re visiting in April—they are an absolute dream for food-focused content.
The best parfait in tokyo. All the fruit are fresh and indeed delicious. They also kids friendly. And don't forget to try their cakes. Really good. Me n my family will comeback for sure.
Must have dessert when visiting Japan! Their fruit parfait is just so different and so delicious! The peach, the mango and the mandarin ones are all great, with optimal sweetness that is unforgettable! We also had the sandwiches, which is kinda unusual, but also impressive
