Special Guests is a specialty coffee shop in London renowned for its exceptional and seasonally curated selection of rare, world-class, and competition-level coffee beans. It features a dedicated grind and brew area specifically for filter coffee, catering to enthusiasts of pour-over methods. The establishment focuses on providing a high-quality coffee experience, offering both intricate filter options and well-executed espresso drinks.
Customers consistently praise Special Guests for its incredible service, fantastic pour-overs, and diverse menu of interesting coffees, including notable Colombian and Ethiopian anaerobic varieties. Many consider their flat whites and cortados among the best in London. While the prices are noted as being a bit high, most agree the quality justifies the cost. Some feedback mentions the pastries are 'ok' and that the metal accents of the bar can give a 'soulless' feel, with seating sometimes being uncomfortable or difficult to find due to the shop's popularity and often loud conversations.
Beyond serving coffee on-site, Special Guests also operates an online store, offering their seasonally curated selection of roasted coffee beans for delivery, allowing customers to enjoy their exceptional coffee at home.
The coffee shop is popular and can be busy, making it challenging to find a seat at most times. It is advisable to visit during off-peak hours if you prefer a quieter experience or are looking for guaranteed seating.
