Something very charming about an unassuming storefront and a flickering menu board to pair with it. I’ve had good Mexican food, but this is probably the first time that I think I’ve ever had Mexican cuisine that is truly great. A bona fide gem of a find for anyone who loves their food. I ordered three tacos: the caramelo, the cabeza and the adobada. All were amazing in their own right with the cabeza oozing with juice, the caramelo bringing together a mixture of textures and the adobaba being on a level of its own. That pork was simply sublime! Somehow, every one of the self serve salsas were flawless and elevated each and every taco they touched. Note that the salsa habanero genuinely does have a kick to it, albeit delicious :). It got messy, but it was so worth it. Amazing value for London and this review should make it obvious to get down here for yourself.
Four of us went to the highly popular Mexican restaurant last weekend when it advertised to have a seafood weekend. As expected, there was a queue even before the restaurant opened. We thought we would only queue for something like 20mins but ended up waiting for an hour. We ordered their ceviche, seafood tacos & quesadillas as well as grilled prawns. Also tried their cocktails which were served in dainty champagne style cups albeit plastic. Food was as good as expected although a bit on the expensive side. We spent £100 for four, all in take-away containers. I have to say it’s probably one of the best Mexican joints in London, perhaps not 100% authentic, but delicious never-the-less.

known as a local gem got three Mexican tacos. it was reminiscent of New York's flavours and quite the heat catacabeta the carne asada and the the barbacoa and it came with all the dressing that you can get and quite spicy. good flavour. just expensive if it were or not. as expensive as it were about five per taco. I would definitely favourite this spot but it's worth trying though. it's not like easy to hit up spot

Good tacos, pretty authentic but still not quite Mexico. The meat options are good but the only veggie option is the cactus, which is unique but not that great compared to the other options. Restaurant is quite small inside, the downstairs doesn’t appear to be in use these days so it was pretty crowded, not really a group spot, but at least they had AC…

Sonora Taquería in Stoke Newington completely delivered on the hype and then some - everything was genuinely 10/10, even with a 30-minute queue at 3PM (makes me wonder how crazy it gets at lunchtime!).
The Barbacoa was melt-in-your-mouth tender and rich, the Carne Asada with cheese crust (Caramelo style) was charred, juicy and insanely addictive with its crispy cheese edges, and the Adobada was perfectly smoky, sweet and balanced.
These three tacos were incredible, fresh, flavour-packed and easily some of the best in London - 100% worth the wait, highly recommend! 🌮
