We visited Slim’s about two weeks ago with the family on a weekend while spending the day shopping. Before getting started, we decided to stop in for a late lunch around 3:00 PM.
At first, we thought this was still the Mediterranean restaurant that used to be in this location, but upon arriving we learned it had been completely transformed into a new concept. We were pleasantly surprised and decided to give it a try.
Slim’s has a classic steakhouse atmosphere that feels like stepping back into the golden era of the 1980s and 1990s. The décor is elegant, and the entire staff from the hostess to the servers is dressed to match the theme, which adds to the overall experience.
The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that they do not offer a children’s menu.
We started with oysters and the lobster appetizer, along with a few additional dishes, and everything was fresh and excellent. For our main courses, we all ordered steaks. The New York strip was cooked perfectly and had outstanding flavor. Even my kids loved it and each finished an entire steak on their own.
The cocktails were very good and consistently prepared.
Overall, Slim’s delivers a high-quality dining experience with excellent food, great service, and a unique old-school steakhouse ambiance. We will definitely be returning to try more items from the menu.
Our first time to Slim , we loved it. Starting with Michelle the hostess with a smile who moved us a few times due to our request. Then we had Freddy server for our table, very well informed
attentive, and took some great pictures of us … spoke with Ashley the Manager who was very charming. The place is beautiful, very relaxing dinning , delicious food, we had drinks to started.Then Escargot 🐌 , Bronzino very large size , delicious salmon. Dining at Slim’s in the elegant Bal Harbour Shops was a very pleasant experience. This stylish bistro serves quality French-inspired dishes with friendly and professional service, from the hostess all the way to the waitstaff.
* The oysters were fresh, served with red vinegar and shallots, and tasted excellent.
* The escargot was absolutely delicious and prepared exactly in classic French style.
* The Branzino fish was delicious
* The pasta was a good choice for our child and nicely prepared.
* The French rosé wine paired perfectly with the meal.
Overall, we really enjoyed the atmosphere, the team, and the food, even though the restaurant was slightly noisier than average. We will definitely come back to try more dishes from the menu.
Our first impression upon arrival was really good – the bar looks beautiful, clean, and has a pleasant atmosphere. The service was also decent, and the staff was polite.
However, it was surprising that the plates didn’t look very clean, especially considering we were the very first customers. This definitely left a less-than-ideal impression.
As for the food, everything was fine but quite simple – both the starters and main dishes were nothing special. The taste was okay, but nothing that really stood out. Considering this, the prices felt a bit high.
Perhaps it’s because the place is still new and not everything has been fully worked out yet. I would probably give it another chance and visit again in the future.
Best date night we’ve had in a long time! We had the pleasure of meeting Alicia and she was wonderful. She made the night very special by helping us decide on the right steak and appetizers. The biscuits were out of this world. Order them. Do not skip out. The tuna tartare was exquisite. Not what you would expect and it does not disappoint. I had a beautiful glass of a vintage Italian wine which paired nicely with my dinner. The restaurant was accommodating to children & elderly with walkers. Service 10/10 food 10/10 will definitely return.
