Shanghai Me was a really pleasant surprise. I originally came for the beautiful setting, but left genuinely impressed by the food. The menu isn’t traditional Chinese, Japanese or Western, it’s a creative fusion that somehow works really well. Every course was beautifully presented, full of flavour, and the portions were far more generous than I expected.
The dessert platter was definitely a standout and the service throughout the meal was exceptional. Everyone was friendly, attentive and made us feel very well looked after.
A fantastic lunch experience in one of the best settings in London. Looking forward to coming back.
🥢 Mixed Steamed Dim Sum Basket
Each of the four types of steamed dumplings has its own unique charm. The Prawn & Truffle Dumplings burst with plump shrimp and rich truffle flavour in every bite. The Wagyu Beef & Kimchi Dumplings combine the crisp tang of Korean kimchi with the tender, juicy texture of wagyu beef. The Black Cod Dumplings are packed with fresh, delicate seafood flavour. And the Creamy Spicy Corn Dumplings—sweet corn paired with a hint of creamy spiciness, which actually brings out the natural sweetness of the corn even more.
🐂 Braised Beef Short Rib Shanghai Style
Slow-braised until melt-in-your-mouth tender and full of flavour. It pairs perfectly with yellow mustard sauce—the sharp, zesty kick of the mustard really brings out the rich aroma of the beef.
🦞 Cantonese Lobster Noodles
Cooked in the classic ginger and scallion style, but without being weighed down by heavy batter—you get to taste the pure, natural flavour of the lobster. They’ve even kindly removed all the shells for you, and served it on springy alkaline noodles. One bite of lobster, one bite of noodles—pure bliss every time.
🌶️ Ma-Po Tofu
Seriously, this dish needs to be protected—it’s absolutely incredible! The tofu is silky smooth, and the savoury Ma-Po sauce is so moreish and goes perfectly with rice. Unlike the typical Sichuan-style numbing spice, this one is rich and flavourful, made especially to be enjoyed with a bowl of warm rice.

Had absolutely great experience at Shanghai Me, food was incredible, staff was super attentive, got great table, amazing views, superb atmosphere. Lobster noodles was one of the best meals I have ever had. Really glad decided to visit this restaurant. One tip if you like less people while eating, book earlier table. I had to book mine 5:30pm and it was perfect, was so quiet for majority of the meal. By the time we were finished restaurant was quite full and more noisy. Loved the advice in regards how much food to order, was perfect amount to have enough space for desert 👌🏻
Loved that they have on the menu alcohol free sparkling wine/tea, in general wine list is great, beautiful decor and really comfortable chairs.

The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with stunning views that make you forget about work the moment you sit down. It’s the perfect spot for a date night. Finish your meal with one of their desserts, and the whole experience just feels complete.
Safe to say it’s officially made it onto my list of favourite date-night restaurants in London. Can’t wait to come back. ✨

I recently visited Shanghai Me at Hilton Park Lane and had a wonderful experience.
The restaurant offers beautiful views across Hyde Park and the London skyline, especially around sunset. The interiors are elegant and inspired by 1930s Shanghai, creating a unique atmosphere.
We enjoyed the Yellowtail Carpaccio with Black Truffle, Spicy Bluefin Tuna Oshizushi and the Cantonese Style Roast Duck. The dishes were well presented and full of flavour. The Visionary | Dragon cocktail was also a highlight of the evening.
Friendly service, great views and a memorable dining experience. I would happily return in the future.
