Last night we did the 7-course chef’s tasting menu with wine pairing at Restaurant Latour at Crystal Springs Resort. In my opinion, this is easily one of the best restaurants in Sussex County.
The wine pairings were very well done and thoughtfully matched to each course. You could tell a lot of effort went into balancing the flavors and overall experience. Some dishes were outstanding and really memorable, while others were good but did not have the same wow factor.
You can definitely see that the restaurant is striving for a Michelin-level dining experience. The presentation, creativity, and overall atmosphere are there, although there are still some areas that could be elevated further.
The setting was beautiful, especially watching the sunset during dinner. Pricing was about what you would expect for this type of experience.
The biggest thing holding the evening back was service staffing. The staff was polite and professional, but the dining room felt understaffed at times, which created gaps in service that took away from the overall flow of the evening.
Overall, we had a very enjoyable experience and would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for a high-end dining experience in Sussex County.
My friend and I spent the weekend celebrating 48 years of friendship at the luxurious Crystal Springs Resort. What an amazing, memorable experience! Nature walks, indulgent spa treatments, paint‑and‑sip, and a fun cabaret show could only be overshadowed by an exclusive Chef’s Table event at Latour, including a private tour of a mind blowing wine cellar, and stunning food and wine pairings…7+ courses!
Look forward to coming back in the warmer months to play golf with my husband and experience that Chef’s Table again. If you haven’t checked it out, don’t miss it. Truly food for the soul.
May not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s a perfect spot for an elevated romantic dinner. Service was excellent and food was exquisite. Staggered seating to allow for individual attention. Great views.
Restaurant Latour offers a truly exceptional fine dining experience that stands out in New Jersey. While it awaits recognition from the Michelin guide, it’s a hidden gem that deserves every accolade. Located within the scenic Crystal Springs golf resort, Latour welcomes guests whether or not they’re staying at the resort—just make a reservation and adhere to the elegant dress code. The intimate space with just about 12 tables, features a stunning western wall of glass so you can see the sunset over the mountains as you savor your meal.
The menu is set at either a 3- or 7-course chef's tasting experience, and we chose the latter. Every dish was a masterpiece—each featuring a different protein and crafted in generous portions that allowed us to fully enjoy each course. The meal was complemented by an aperitif, a selection of housemade breads and butters, and delightful chocolates after dessert.
The service sets a new standard for five-star hospitality. A dedicated team of professionals serving you, not just a single person. (Seriously ten+ different people took care of our table.) Every course, and ensuring the table is perfectly reset after every plate. The sommelier, soon to be a master) sommelier will answer any wine-related questions, enhancing the experience.
We enjoyed our dinner experience and highly recommend it. I think it is a great option for something like an anniversary.
There are some comments on cost: expect to spend at least $600 for dinner for two, with upward trajectory based on quality and quantity of wine choices and gratuity.
As a bonus: You can sign up for a tour the wine cellar and a wine tasting with the sommelier at the resort. You do not have to stay at the resort to do this. There is a fee for the wine tasting. We did both of these before dinner.
This restaurant felt like an experience. We did the 7 course chef menu and it was incredible. The service was great, and they were very informed about the food they were serving. I will say it is a hefty price but overall worth it.
