Peregrine is a must visit for anyone in Raleigh and one of the best dining experiences I have ever had.
I went to Peregrine with a group of 9. Chef Saif and Khoi designed a beautiful 7 course menu (really 9 courses, factoring in a palate cleanser and take-home dessert) with wine pairings.
Each course was exceptional, inventive and delicious. I can safely say that everyone in the group agreed this was one of the best meals they had ever had. The barbecue swordfish was far and away the best swordfish I have ever had. I have attached photos and the menu since it is impossible to explain how truly inventive and excellent the food was.
The service was outstanding. Chef Saif and Khoi are both wonderful people who truly care about their customers and their staff.
I cannot recommend Peregrine highly enough.
Dining at Peregrine was truly an unforgettable experience from start to finish. The service was immaculate! Every staff member greeted my group with genuine smiles, kindness and an incredible level of attentiveness that made the evening feel so special. You can immediately tell that hospitality is at the heart of everything they do.
Every single dish was absolutely to die for! I’m usually hesitant when it comes to trying new dishes, however, each course pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best possible way. The presentation alone deserves its own recognition. My favorite dish was the chicken- The flavors were incredible, and I loved hearing about the origin and inspiration behind the food.
As someone with a major sweet tooth, dessert was the perfect ending to a wonderful experience. I ordered three desserts and genuinely could not choose a favorite because every single one was phenomenal. Each flavor and presentation is intentional.
The level of care and passion truly elevated my dining experience. Peregrine is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion or simply treat yourself to an exceptional dinner. I cannot wait to return soon!

I can now see why Raleigh’s own Peregrine has been nominated for a national James Beard Award in the “Best New Restaurant” category. My wife, Janice, and I found out last night that Peregrine is a Contemporary American Cuisine wonder! It was opened by Partner/Executive Chef and longtime friend Saif Rahman, nearly a year ago. The menu is out of this world tasty!
We started with the “Arrivals” (appetizer) Grilled Beef Hearts, aji Verde (so good!). Then for “Journeys” (main course), Janice had Roasted Trout with harissa and aromatic herbs and I had the Roasted Lamb al Pastor Style (every bite was a savory treasure!). We added a “Wanderings” (side) of Coconut Rice served with cashews and raisins. Of course we shared (ok, fought over…) everything and then finished the night with Pastry Chef Khoi Ha’s Mango Flan with cardamom flavoring (what a tasty finish!).
Congrats Chef Saif, you and Partner Patrick Shanahan have created a Raleigh Masterpiece!

Met some friends for dinner here. This place has a beautiful design and nice open feeling.
Interesting menu with global sensibility & a few Bengali and Peruvian influences.
Manager Derek was exceptionally welcoming and the server Cody was very attentive and helpful.
The food was somewhere between a 4 and 5 for me with the Chicken hearts, mushroom dish and beets being standouts.
Desserts were quite good as well, beautifully presented with clean flavors. All of us liked the banana milk bomb which was liquid filled…’one bite only’ insisted the server!

I really like the atmosphere of this place and the drinks were good but the food just hasn’t been memorable enough to come back.
Papaya salad: so toned down in flavor that it was very bland
Beef tartare: opposite of the papaya and had a lot of flavor but it got tiring after a few bites
The Bengali wedding chicken was decent but was kinda basic.
The trout was grilled well but I wished there was more flavor to it.
The dessert was phenomenal though. I don’t think any place I’ve been to here has desserts like peregrine.
This probably wouldn’t be my dinner first choice but for drinks and desserts 100%
