A highly overrated place with strong signs of TikTok-style clickbait.
The food is decent but nothing special. In some cases, the flavours do not quite work together. It feels like a well-intentioned attempt to bring Irish culture abroad, but it comes across as somewhat Americanised, as if mixing Tayto and Guinness is enough to make it authentic.
The worst part was the coffee. The black coffee tasted burnt, likely brewed at too high a temperature. The iced latte was particularly concerning, with visible lumps of milk, which is usually a sign that the milk has not been stored properly.
Although there are tables available, there is no real thought given to seating. The benches are poorly sized in relation to the tables, so you quickly find yourself sitting at awkward angles while trying to eat. The space is also cramped, to the point where you can practically hear the thoughts of the people next to you.
After our visit, I saw a post from the business explaining they had been experiencing staffing issues and were overwhelmed, which may have affected their standards. That honesty is appreciated, and for that reason I would be willing to give them another chance, as it seems we may have visited at a bad time.
super cute new cafe/bakery that recently opened up!!! Had the hot chocolate which looked elegant and was delicious! The concrete seating was a bit tough but the aesthetics of the bakery were beautiful and friendly staff. There was a massive line earlier so have to come back to try pastries next!

Visited Gorse for coffee and a pastry. There was a good selection of baked goods, and everything was well presented. The coffee and pastry were enjoyable, and it's a convenient place to stop by if you're in the area.

Hub for ill-mannered social media influencers. Will never return again.
It pains me to write this review as the potato farl I ordered was very tasty, especially with the butter added to it. I didn’t like the cold brew, but I think it’s more of a personal taste rather than a testament to the coffee. The staff was relatively kind.
What made this experience so horrid was two clients that were in the cafe. I had just been discharged from the hospital 20 minutes before going to Gorse and decided to make a quick stop at the bakery to refuel for 10 minutes with a coffee and a potato farl. There was a seat available, and I tipped generously for in-person service. 5 minutes into my snack, tired as ever from being hospitalised for a few days, two social media bullies walked in and before even ordering their food, started pushing me away from my seat and asked me to leave. I said “you have to wait like everybody else, I am eating breakfast”. One of them told me “yes but I want to sit here”. I explained that I would be done shortly. Bear in mind, there was a queue, which they of course skipped. They managed to put all the belongings on my table and chased me out of the coffee. The owner witnessed this and did not help me. I was obviously very weak as I had literally just been discharged from hospital 20 minutes prior. Traumatic experience.
This cafe just attracts a horrible crowd.
