Okuju Restaurant was recommended by the Sales Manager at JW Marriott Hotel Kuala Lumpur for our APAC leadership dinner, and it turned out to be an excellent choice.
I had the pleasure of working closely with Restaurant Manager Reyvi, who was incredibly patient, attentive, and accommodating throughout the planning process. Reyvi worked closely with the chef to help customize our dinner menu for one of our delegates who required a vegetarian and gluten-free meal, ensuring everyone’s dietary needs were thoughtfully considered. Her professionalism, responsiveness, and attention to detail made the planning process seamless and stress-free.
The food was delicious, the service was impeccable, and all of our leaders thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. What made the evening even more special was the thoughtful surprise from Reyvi and her team, they prepared a personalized welcome slide to welcome our APAC leadership team in their private room which made us feel truly welcomed and valued.

Had a wonderful dining experience at Okaju. The ambience is elegant, comfortable, and creates a great setting for a relaxing meal. What stood out the most was the attentive and professional service from the staff, who made us feel welcomed and well taken care of throughout the evening. We visited to celebrate my partner’s birthday and were warmly welcomed by a team that was consistently polite and attentive. Each dish was presented with care, accompanied by clear and thoughtful explanations. The atmosphere was calm and inviting, making the entire experience feel relaxed and special. The food was excellent—we especially loved the sake soufflé. Considering both the quality and the aesthetic, the pricing felt very reasonable. A special mention goes to Keyvi, whose warm smile and genuinely friendly manner elevated the experience with truly exceptional service. As a lovely touch, they also offered us a complimentary Polaroid photo as a keepsake of the occasion.

Had dinner at Okaju Japanese Grill and went with the omakase. Really enjoyable experience overall. The meal started light with some sashimi and a refreshing salad, then moved into richer dishes like the uni bun which was honestly one of the highlights for me. The sushi course was simple but very fresh and nicely balanced.
The grilled scallops were sweet and buttery, and the lobster dish was excellent, cooked perfectly and full of flavour. After that we had donabe rice which was really comforting, especially after the seafood courses. Dessert was a warm sake soufflé with a strawberry daifuku to finish, which was a nice touch.
Service was attentive without being intrusive, and the pacing between dishes felt just right. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, good for a date night or a relaxed dinner. Definitely a place I’d come back to for a special occasion.

Had a wonderful experience here! I planned to celebrate my loved one’s birthday, and it turned out to be a great choice. The staff, especially Serena, was very sweet and attentive — she even arranged a little surprise for us without me asking, which made the night extra special.
The food was amazing, the ambience was great, and the service was excellent. The staff also helped us take a Polaroid photo and gave it to us as a souvenir. Such a thoughtful touch.
