Momoya SoHo came highly recommended to me, so I decided to give it a try with a group of friends, and I’m glad we did. From the moment we arrived, the setting was one of the first things that stood out. The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere that feels upscale and polished, making it a great spot for a night out with friends or a special dinner.
The food was excellent and definitely lived up to the recommendations I had received. The menu has a great variety of options, and the quality of the dishes really stood out throughout the meal. One dish that I would especially recommend is the spicy tuna crispy rice. It was easily one of my favorite things we ordered and is a must try if you are visiting for the first time.
The restaurant is definitely on the more pricy side, so it is something to keep in mind when planning your visit. That said, I felt the quality of the food, the setting, and the overall experience made it worth the price.
The staff was also great throughout the evening. Everyone was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which added to what was already a great dining experience.
Overall, I had a really enjoyable first visit to Momoya SoHo and can understand why it was recommended to me. If you are looking for a nice upscale spot in SoHo with great food, a beautiful setting, and excellent service, I would definitely recommend giving it a try. And make sure to order the spicy tuna crispy rice!
I love to come here every now and then, especially during Restaurant week.
This time I got their lunch menu, for $30 I got a small edamame potage (cold soup) and the omakase set. Fish was delicious, loved the soup although i wish it was hot! We also got the Wagyu ju (yum!) and the somen (great refreshing bite of cold noodles!)
The drinks were amazing too! A cantaloupe w condensed milk slushie and a strawberry mint slushie - I could’ve drank more! They were addicting, specifically if you don’t want a strong alcohol taste. I enjoy my cocktails on the sweeter side so these were perfect.
The parfait for the summer, inspired by Okinawa and Hawaii, was a whopping $33. It had so many layers and different bites, I understand the heavy price point and it’s definitely a special treat. Presentation was gorgeous and it was fun to try so many flavors in one!
Would recommend for a date night and I’m always looking forward to coming back!!
There were two of us dining at this restaurant, and overall it was a wonderful experience. The service was exceptional. I remember when a little water spilled on the table, and a waiter appeared almost instantly to wipe it up (like they had someone monitoring the table at all times 😂). The food was overall great, although the brussels sprouts didn’t quite meet my expectations. The Duck Duo was also a bit different from what we had anticipated, and the meat lacked tenderness and had more fatty tissue than I expected. However, the Wagyu Crispy Rice was a pleasant surprise, especially considering I’m not usually a meat person.
I had the Miso Cod, which was perfectly tender, and the miso flavor blended beautifully with the cauliflower rice underneath. I absolutely loved that dish. We also tried a seasonal special—the soft-shell crab roll (I forgot to take a pic) and it was delicious. I wish they offered a few more dessert options, so we ended up skipping dessert.
Outstanding late night sushi experience! I arrived close to 9.30 PM, and everything from the food to the service was flawless.
I ordered the 8-piece sushi combo with a Negi Hamachi roll and paired it with a refreshing Mango Margarita…What really blew me away was the service! The server was incredibly attentive regarding dairy allergies. She noticed there was mayo on the salmon belly sushi and proactively had the chef change it immediately. That level of care is hard to find!
The minimalist decor creates a wonderful dining environment. The food quality is refreshing! I even ordered an extra piece of Spanish Mackerel and it was the perfect, satisfying amount for a late dinner without feeling overly heavy. Thank you so much to the team for doing such a fantastic job. I’ll definitely be back to try other combinations! PS. Plus 1 point for the clean restroom downstair given busy Friday night, great work delivered in a tiny detail.
We came here for Mother’s Day celebration, and even though the restaurant was very busy, we were seated right away which was a great start to the experience. The food was delicious with a wide variety of options for everyone to enjoy. Everything came out flavorful and satisfying.
A special shoutout to Yammie, our server, who truly made the experience exceptional. She was attentive, constantly checked in on our table, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. Her friendly and caring service made our celebration even more enjoyable. Definitely a great spot for special occasions, and we’ll be coming back again!
