We went to Central Market last weekend with friends and it was a fabulous experience. My husband and I ordered the radicchio salad and the Branzino. I wanted to post this review because I am still thinking about the Branzino…it was light and creamy. The sides made the Branzino a start with thinly sliced potatoes, and a Sicilian olive salad. I ordered a Rose because I knew it would be perfect and it was. And I enjoy the ambience. Lively and slightly understated.
The food was great and surprisingly not busy considering the quality. I will return if in the area again. Service was accommodating, very friendly, knowledgeable about the food selections, and attentive despite it being somewhat busy. Food was great

Food was delicious. Seating was comfortable. And service was super fast. Atmosphere was cool. Seating near the windows does get a little bit warm during sunny days.

We had a wonderful meal tonight (as usual), and I couldn’t believe that we were able to walk in and be seated without a wait! It was truly a treat to enjoy several dishes from tonight’s menu.
The menu this evening was unlike any others offered in Petaluma and each dish was served to perfection. We were pleased with the attentive care from the owner alongside the wonderful ambience (it wasn’t too loud or quiet).
Though there are myriad fine dining offerings in Petaluma, Central Market is one of the few that sources produce and meat locally AND changes their menu seasonally, if not more often. After living in Petaluma for several decades I’ve become bored with many of the local restaurants, but Central Market continues to offer an inspired and impressive menu that leaves us feeling satisfied and grateful at the end of each meal.
Thank you, also, for welcoming our twin toddlers this evening as they joined us for dinner. They also thoroughly enjoyed the dishes we shared 😊

The food is so good I will come back despite underwhelming environment. We came on a warm day and they sat us by the window in a high top although reservation stated it was a birthday. No one wants a high top at a restaurant with $50 entrees. Just stop. A full sit down meal requires and normal table. The main issue inside the restaurant is that there is an oven in the middle and i’m not sure they have AC. Sitting by the windows on a sunny day is uncomfortably hot. It must have been 85 degrees where we were sat. The staff seemed exhausted by the heat inside as well. Ok, the negative is out of the way.
The food was so good and exciting. Shoestring zucchini fries with lemon are so addictive. Farinata was awesome, tasted like the best thanksgiving stuffing you could ever make. Halibut cooked to perfection. Dessert of the day strawberry pie - absolutely perfect. All ingredients were very fresh and flavorful and presentation was thoughtful. So many other things we wanted to try on menu. Now we know the deal - on hot days, stay away from window seats. Food is fantastic!!!
