Went here for our 35th wedding anniversary. We dined on July 6, 2026...our actual wedding day was July 6, 1991. It was a fantastic dining experience. We overindulged but we got the full tasting experience: seared scallops, snapper crudo, dry aged sirloin, adobo roasted cauliflower, Dorothy's greens, crispy sweet potatoes, confit carrots. EVERYTHING was delish‼️
Dining at the Marcus DC was such an amazing experience I cannot recommend enough. I am very happy and grateful to my friend that introduced me to this restaurant as she was familiar with Chef Marcus from cooking shows she often watches on the Food Network. The restaurant is beautiful, dimly lit but not too dim, the ambiance was perfect, the selection of people dining matched the vibes of the restaurant wanting a quant, upscale experience. All the staff I encountered were so nice, welcoming and built my first time experience. I will be revisiting very soon! Gemechis was our server and he was very knowledgeable, provided great recommendations, and really made our experience since it was both our first time visiting this restaurant. We had the corn bread, scallops, salmon, tortellini, brown sugar tart and praline coconut. From the starter to dessert everything, and I mean everything, was prepared to perfection. The scallops were the best I ever had; so fresh, seasoned and melted in your mouth every bite. I had to tortellini as my entree and it was excellent the sauce alone I could devour. Then I had the praline coconut dessert which I wasn’t too sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations especially with the presentation and delivery of my dessert. They also have a nice selection of wines. You must visit this restaurant. I am looking forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

The service is mixed. Waiter spent short time introducing self and asking for drinks. Came back took order and then you don't see him again until you ask for bill and runner gets him. The other wait staff was excellent water always full. Runner explains dishes well. Place was quiet but not busy. Open kitchen but most tables face away from kitchen. First course was steak tartar with his spin. Very pretty dish but flavor was not classic and overall a little disappointing except for the excellent bread that accompanies it, I would not repeat. The main was salmon a little over dine and dry on one side but delicious. Sides also great. I had the cuttlefish tortellini again a great dish with fresh pasta and a wonderful lobster sauce with chunks of lobster. The side of carrots were great perfectly cooked and flavorful. The dessert strawberry breton was okay. It is served with lime ice cream that did not add to dessert. I would not recommend. It was okay. Would repeat all. The wine list was small and reasonable. Overall I except better setvice from waiter who was very detached and improved appetizers and desserts

Incredible food, outstanding flavors and options, exceptional service. My husband and I ate here for our anniversary. Brendan, and Dejana, spoiled us with kindness and attentiveness. I'd return just to chat it up with them again.
We ate and shared several dishes, tapas style.
Appetizer & Side:
- Corn bread. It was delicious and I would definitely order another plate or a plate to go. I couldn't taste much of the berbere seasoning in the butter but it was still a solid piece of cornbread.
-Oysters on a half shell. The sauces that accompanied these oysters were delicious with a little kick of heat. Not too bad or overpowering but heads up.
- Aged steak tartare. I could eat another plate of this to myself. It was delicious in every way imaginable. Loved the little mushrooms and the umami onion jam. We ate it with and without the well portioned toast slices. You can't go wrong with this.
- Collard greens. I could have had a whole bowl of these greens. Listen, get yourself the greens. Spot on and packed with flavor. We saved some of our cornbread to enjoy with the pot liquor of the greens after devouring them. We had to restrain ourselves so as not to wolf them down.
Main:
- Scallops. Perfect crust, yummy plantain mole and a perfect kick of heat. I enjoyed trying the elements of this dish individually and as a mix. My mouth is watering just thinking about this dish.
- Cuttlefish Tortelloni- Yes, yes and yes! With enthusiasm and a tambourine! The star of the night, neck neck with the tare tare but I would order this every time. Do yourself a favor and save any bread to help soak up the delicious broth after you indulge in this scrumptious dish! I could have eaten this all by myself.
Dessert: The Praline Cake with a presentation was such a fun surprise. I loved that the pastry chef came to our table to demonstrate and explain the dish. Lovely touch to this delicious dessert.

I recently visited Marcus DC with one of my close friends and honestly could not have asked for a better experience. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was incredible and the service matched it perfectly.
We decided to go the small plates route and I'm glad we did. We started off with the oysters. The oysters paired the prickly pear piri piri and habanero sauce were absolutely delicious... bold, unique flavors that I was not expecting but loved every bite of. We also had the snapper crudo which was so well balanced and flavorful without being overdone. Just really well executed.
Now let me talk about the adobo cauliflower because it may genuinely be the best seasoned cauliflower I have ever had in my entire life. I would go back to this restaurant just for that dish alone!! Lastly, the crispy potato was also a great addition and rounded out the meal perfectly.
Everything about this visit was top tier. The food, the atmosphere, and especially the service. If you have not been to Marcus at the Morrow Hotel yet, you are truly missing out.
