Very enjoyable place with original Filippino dishes. I went for the breakfast meal deal for £10.75, with longanisa, tater tots and an ube latte, and also took away two desserts: the ube ganache for £5.50 and the ube bow for £4.90. Not everything was perfect, but in general I would still consider this place worth visiting.
The longanisa was probably the least exciting part of the meal. It was savoury enough, but did not feel dramatically different from a sausage and egg McMuffin from McDonalds. The tater tots were crisp and worked surprisingly well with the calamansi sauce, which added a bright citrusy kick. The real highlight was the ube latte. The flavour was distinctive, fragrant and gently earthy, with that soft, almost coconut-like sweetness that makes ube so appealing. Overall breakfast deal was a good value for the price. I would come back for the ube latte alone.
The desserts were descent. Both the ube ganache and the ube bow were generously filled with ube cream and chocolate. They were colourful, creative and satisfying. My only small criticism is that I would have liked the cream to be a little sweeter and the pastry texture to be slightly more flaky and delicate.
Ordered - Longanisa Meal Deal.
For drink - Spanish Matcha.
Honestly, atmosphere 10/10, food 10/10 immaculate & waiting time little to non. Was quick.
All thanks to the entire team & Zee & Gian especially.
Keep it up & will surely be back again. Definitely worth the travel. Came all the way from Nottingham just to try. 😤👏👍🔥
My partner and I visited at 2pm on a Saturday in the summer holidays. We were able to sit outside and enjoy the atmosphere and a lovely warm day. The drinks and food arrived promptly and were absolutely delicious. Presentation was fantastic and the nicest matcha we've both had - highly recommend the spanish iced matcha! We will be back to try the other sandos soon! The staff were all so friendly
Since pandera relocated from here and has now been replaced by this medium rare variation I'm glad to say its as good, maybe better.
Some reviews complained about staff but the guys I ordered with were chill and great to talk to.
Food is great, ordered breakfast meal + corned beef sando. Calamansi ketchup I really enjoyed, egg was perfectly cooked and fluffy. Sando was good my only gripe would probably be more lettuce would make the texture better.
Atmosphere is nice, music is not that loud and its good taste anyways.
Finally visited Cafe Mama & Sons recently, we bought the jerk chicken and egg mayo sando meal deals. The best item was definitely the egg sando which tasted great and was really well made.
The crisps were ok, some were a little chewy and the quality seemed inconsistent.
For drinks, the Ube Matcha Latte and Strawberry tea were really good. Looking forward to visiting again, I know these drinks would be perfect in warmer weather too
