Customer Perception
Customers consistently praise Leon Brasserie for its luxurious ambiance, stunning decor, and exceptional food quality, particularly highlighting the originality and extravagance of dishes like foie gras and scallops. The cocktails are frequently described as amazing and creative, with staff like Kadek noted for crafting customized drinks. While many find the French cooking skills evident and the overall experience memorable, some feedback points to inconsistencies in certain dishes (e.g., bland bone-marrow, uninspired anchovies, or an unpleasant amuse bouche) and occasional difficulties in getting staff attention. The complimentary bread rolls are well-received, but the lack of complimentary drinking water is a minor point of contention for some.

Weekdays might be ideal for those seeking a quieter and more serene dining experience, as the restaurant has been noted to be quiet during these times.
Luxury and divine. I went for the high end meals as a treat and enjoyed the foods originality. The place was quiet on a weekday and I was left alone to enjoy the meals. They came well prepared and extravagant. The foie gras & scallops were the main meals, creamy foie gras with so much flavor and huge portion! The experience & French cooking skills were evident. The soufflé fire was unexpected and a nice experience, I felt it did dry out the dish a bit too much but the delicious Irish Mule drink made up for any issues. Stunning decor, energy and saw a few obvious regulars to the restaurant in attendance. It was a lovely solo night of self indulgent dishes that I devoured with glee.
Once again this place exceeded all expectations. The cocktails are amazing and food exceptional. Do yourself a favour and experience Leon Brasserie for yourselves.

We had such high hopes for this restaurant - but unfortunately it was ultimately just ok.
The highlight was the Australian Lamb on couscous - which was very good - and the French Onion Soup and the Soufflé (while not swoon-worthy) were also very nice.
But the bone-marrow was very disappointing.
Very under-seasoned and bland - and stuck to the roof of our mouths.
The anchovies were another disappointment - very dull and uninspired. Some olive oil and seasoning (or something to elevate it) would have certainly helped the flavour profile.
The lentil salad - again really bland and really lacking. Under-seasoned (or under-dressed) - really had nothing going for it.
The complimentary amuse bouche was really truly awful. It’s hard to fathom what the chef was thinking and whether he/she even tried it. Unpleasantly strong fishy taste - pretty much inedible. How can a restaurant at this level get it so wrong?
The complimentary bread rolls were lovely - crispy and piping hot and served with butter.
The cocktails were great too - it’s just a shame they couldn’t match that with consistency across the food offerings.
Also on several occasions it was really hard to get the attention of a staff member - though Ungar was an absolute delight and very attentive when we interacted with him.
The music was inoffensive - but a missed opportunity in terms of curating a French playlist that would have added significantly to the ambience of the experience. Why not play French music in a French restaurant - is this not a no-brainer?
Finally - please please please do the classy thing, and provide complimentary drinking water.
It makes no sense that you’d provide complimentary ice (ie frozen water) but not water. It costs your restaurant soooo very little, but really it’s so the small classy acts like this that help define a positive experience.

Me and my partner had a great meal last night at Leon for our last night in Canguu!
The food was delicious with the signature hot foie gras to start (we shared) then we both had the 200 day ages Australian Ribeye which was cooked perfectly with us and a side of roasted pumpkin that again was so yummy cooked with rosemary.
The night was topped off by our lovely server Angga who was very attentive and chatty ☺️ thanks again for a great meal 🫶🏼

After visiting Leon Brasserie 2 years ago, we were keen to see if it was as good as previously. We were definitely not disappointed. From the moment we were greeted, our reception was everything we remembered, we were promptly seated at the bar where we met the amazing Kadek who was a creative genius and asked each of us, which spirt was our favourite and what we did and did not like then made us a customised cocktail, incredible to say the least and my favourite cocktail in Bali to date... we are off to a great start. The food... what can I say, I may not be French but the food was everything and more I had experienced in Paris but with the warmth the Balinese are known for and the service, all of 5 stars and of course the flavour, incredible!! We love Bali, and eating at great restaurants, we are always looking for something special, we have found it at Leon Brasserie and will definitely be back! Thank you team for making our visit a memorable experience. 🫶🏼
