Jasmine Porch is the main restaurant located within The Sanctuary, a spectacular hotel on the private, residential Kiawah Island. It is renowned for its genuine Lowcountry cuisine and is part of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort, offering dining experiences for breakfast, lunch, brunch, and dinner.
Customer feedback highlights exceptional service, with staff consistently described as friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, and embodying Southern hospitality. The food quality, however, receives mixed reviews; while some find it excellent, others consider it unremarkable or not commensurate with the high price point. Specific criticisms include issues with steak preparation, bland desserts, and uninspired appetizers. Vegan options, such as the tofu scramble, are well-received and appreciated for chef accommodation of dietary needs.

Entire wait staff was awesome. Super friendly, helpful, knowledgeable. Enjoyable evening.
In contrast, Food was less than... I've eaten all over the world, this was not impressive, especially for the cost. I ordered a medium-well filet, asked for NO CHAR & NO RED. Solid Pink ok. Steak was completely charred, but more red than pink. Dessert (bland bread pudding with grainy caramel sauce) was mediocre. Overall, the food would not draw me back. But the service / staff might make me willing to try again in the future to see if this was a one off kind of night. If i was a full on food critic or influencer, they would not have passed muster tonight.
While we stayed at the Sanctuary, we had our little Cavalier King Charles spaniel Cholly with us.
The staff at Jasmines was so kind and professional as to accommodate us with a corner table and special dishes for Cholly.
The food was excellent.
But was staff was incredible! Always a smile and sweet words. Always accommodating.
Southern hospitality at its best.
We have previously had excellent experiences over the last few years.
We were seated directly next to a double door to a porch, with lots of traffic, despite many unoccupied tables that were not highly trafficked.
The service was good, if perhaps a bit intrusive (four different people topping up your water every two minutes).
The food was perfectly acceptable, but unremarkable. The fried green tomatoes seemed like they had commercial onion ring batter. The lobster bisque had no remarkable flavors. My fillet had a mealy texture.
At almost $100 pp without alcohol included, we expected better.
I had the tofu scramble and coffee with oat milk. It was one of the best tofu scrambles I’ve ever had. Very well seasoned with a curry flavor to it. The milk for my coffee came heated. The chef also took care not to cross contaminate my food with any dairy/egg allergens which was highly appreciated. Thank you for having several vegan options!
I dined here the day before my birthday and the food was exquisite. The service was amazing but I took off a star because I put on the reservation that it was for my birthday and there was no acknowledgement of that and there also was a shrimp that wasn't properly cleaned that I came across in my grits and pointed out to my waiter. Upon leaving I mentioned that my birthday wasn't acknowledged and he said that he didn't know. Outside of that everything was amazing. They had the best biscuits I've ever had at a restaurant to start with then I got the 3 course meal without the wine pairing that was perfect (with the exception of the shrimp). Their mocktails were good as well.
