This used to be an excellent restaurant, but the recent update to their concept, menu, and prices is an atrocity.
I stopped by for dinner, unsuspecting, on my most recent visit to London and could not have been more disappointed. Rather than Israeli or Middle Eastern their menu is now one of those genetically international ones that could be kindly called “Mediterranean” or “New American” in other parts of the world. Familiar stars of the Honey & Co brand like hummus or falafel are gone.
Still, the dishes sounded promising, so I ordered the suggested number for 2 people. Everything was meh but the prices for items like their skewers or cauliflower rice were actively offensive given the portion and make up of the dish. The cauliflower rice dish in particular was a jarring departure from everything else, tasting like some aggressively over salted biryani and clashing with everything else we ate.
Service was fast and very friendly but it could not make up for the food.
If you like Honey & Co, do yourself a favor and avoid this location. It’s such a shame that they so tragically ruined a great restaurant.
Despite having cooked recipes from the honey&co book several times I somehow hadn’t been to any of their restaurants. What an error!! Went for dinner at their recently renovated Great Portland Street site with a friend as a party of 2 (previously honey & smoke). Food was exceptional. Generous portions (not always a given for small plates!) - the crispy artichokes with labneh were a favourite. Asparagus skewer really tasty, sumac potatoes delicious as you’d expect, roasted cauliflower main also very flavourful (the preserved lemon hit - yum). The cheesecake was hands down the best thing I ate all night. That crunchy Kadaif pastry & almonds. The salty smooth cheesecake topping. The honey syrup. I would go back to eat that alone. The chocolate pistachio mousse was nice but totally outshone by the cheesecake.
Service was a little slow but in a grazing / sharing environment I didn’t mind (mainly just took a while for mains plates to be cleared). Would highly recommend and return!
Came here to eat on a Friday night. Would recommend booking because the earliest time slot available when we tried to book the day before was 8:30.
The pork chops and artichoke were the standout of the savoury dishes we ordered. The cheesecake was my favourite from the whole meal. Highly recommend ordering this.
Spent just under £60pp for food and wine.
We booked this placed based on reviews. The food surpassed expectations. Absolutely delicious. The staff was very accommodating and knowledgeable of the menu. We booked an early dinner on a Saturday night, so it was a bit quiet, but the atmosphere certainly build up. A small suggestion. The sharing menu had an incredible mezze, so we had so much that the octopus main would get away with being half the size as part of the sharing menu without the extra charge. Food for thought. Highly recommend it.
This is a great purveyor of quality food.
My colleagues and I went to this place this December and found the place to be absolutely amazing.
