Goldee's BBQ is a highly acclaimed Texas barbecue joint known for its exceptional brisket, beef ribs, and pork ribs. It operates with limited hours, typically Friday through Sunday, and often requires a significant wait in line, with many patrons arriving hours before opening. The restaurant also offers pre-orders for certain items a week in advance.
Customer Perception
Customers consistently praise Goldee's BBQ for its outstanding quality of meats, particularly the beef rib and brisket, often stating it's the best they've ever had. The bread pudding is also a frequently mentioned highlight. However, the long wait times are a significant factor, with many recommending arriving very early. Some reviews mention a high price point, and one reviewer found the beef rib to be excessively fatty and the brisket also fatty, leading to disappointment relative to the cost and reputation.

Best Times to Visit
Due to its popularity and limited hours (Friday-Sunday, 11 AM - 3 PM), it's recommended to arrive several hours before opening, especially on Saturdays, to secure desired meats. Some suggest arriving around 1-1:30 PM might result in a shorter line after the initial rush.
The beef rib was by far the best of the bunch. It was so tender and flavorful. The pork ribs would be next. The bread was very moist. The sausages were also good but the casing was kind of hard. The pork belly was not good at all. Turkey and chicken were alright. We also had bread putting and peach cobbler.
Food is great. The best for me was the brisket, pork belly, lamb ribs and slaw. Sausages(various types), ribs, and potato salad also very good but, if you have limited space pick the other items. Huge line up Sat morning. Seems like some people came at least 1 hour earlier. Felt like camping for a sneaker or swatch drop. I think if you come after that first rush, 1-1:30ish might be less of a line/commitment. They do have some pre-order items a week in advance. Would eat again. Maybe get take out/left overs to eat with some rice/carbs at home.

5 star experience! Waited in line for 3 hours and the food was definitely worth the wait.
The staff was welcoming and friendly and the place had some lawn chairs for customers to use, if needed.
Everything was sold a la carte, by the pound (1/2 & 1/4 as well) Obviously the star of the show is the brisket, but the ribs and sausage are up there as well. I also HIGHLY recommend the Bread Pudding dessert.
Overall, if you are a foodie or just a fan of Texas BBQ, you will not be disappointed. There is a reason Goldee’s remains a top 3 bbq joint in the entire state.

Service was excellent, but the food was a big letdown.
We had high expectations for this Dallas BBQ spot after hearing it was one of the best, especially coming from the DC area for a dedicated Lone Star State trip. Unfortunately, it fell well short of the hype—particularly compared to Terry Black’s in Austin.
The service was genuinely outstanding from start to finish. The staff clearly has hospitality down to an art. The bread pudding was also fantastic—easily a 10/10.
However, the meats were extremely disappointing for the price. At nearly $180 for two people, we expected much better. The beef rib alone was around $80 and was about 85% fat—almost inedible. The brisket was decent but still around 60% fat. The turkey was just okay (we only received one slice), and while the bark had some good smoke, the overall flavor profile was dominated by grease rather than seasoning or smoke.
The sides were mediocre at best: mac and cheese was a 4/10, baked beans a 5/10, and the banana pudding was fine but noticeably missing the sliced bananas I prefer.
We waited in line starting at 9am, and while the service made the visit pleasant, the food quality simply didn’t justify the cost or the reputation. Sad to say, this was a major miss for us.

I haven't been to many BBQ places outside of DFW (Only been to Cattleacks, Pecan Lodge, and Hurtados in Arlington) but this is easily the best BBQ I've ever had. The beef rib, brisket, pulled pork and the sausage I had were simply incredible. However you do need to be aware of a few things beforehand. While they're only open 11-3 from Friday-Sunday, do show up early so you'll actually have the meats you want. (I showed up shortly after 8am, and there was still close to 60 people ahead of me) So bring a good chair, drinks, and ways to pass the time. Now they'll provide you with a chair and bottled water but do bring these things with you just in case. This is also expensive food as well; for me it's worth it but it may dissuade some. (Which is understandable, but this isn't something I would do too often) I cannot recommend this place enough, but do come prepared if you do. You'll certainly be well rewarded for your patience and preparation.
