What an amazing experience! With our group of 8, we were able to coordinate a fixed course menu with some of the most delicious dishes, some of which paired perfectly with Bub and Grandma's bread from next door. The meats were perfectly seasoned and cooked. All of the dishes exceeded expectations especially the tartare, albacore, dressed lettuce, green chili stew, and peaches. All highly recommended. Also, do not miss the oysters and the dates in brown butter (maybe a favorite). For dessert, both the chocolate cake and sticky date pudding were amazing! Must haves. The sommelier wad fantastic and provided excellent suggestions, even some wines that were not on the menu. Everything was perfect, including the service. The experience at Dunsmoor very much lives up to the hype. Run, don't walk, and definitely don't skip this hidden gem in Glassell Park!
The decor and overall vibe at Dunsmoor feel rustic and relaxing, and the service is excellent. I found myself enjoying the smaller dishes more than the large entrées. The albacore and chicken liver are must-orders, with a savory-sweet balance elevated by aromatic herbs. The tuna toast and Wagyu tartare are also very good—high quality and exactly what you would hope for.
Among the entrées, the pork chop is especially juicy and clearly shows real skill in preparation, though I wished the flavors were a bit more innovative.
The cornbread looks beautiful, but it was a little too soaked in grease for my taste.

Whoa, I haven’t been back to Dunsmoor in a few years. They got so popular! I checked Open Table for reservations, but the earliest open date was for two months later, so I decided to walk in at 5:30PM when they opened. They seated a bunch of people before me, but I ended up being first on the waitlist. It took maybe 30 minutes to get a table. I highly recommend making a reservation!
Service was really good. The host was very friendly and handled the long line very well. It seemed like all the servers were hands on and looked out for the entire dining room. I had a different person refilling water, clearing old plates, and bringing new utensils. They were all nice.
The menu was ok because it listed a bunch of appetizers and sides but only three mains (fish, pork, beef). The dessert is also included at the bottom. I went with the cornbread, rice, and beef ribeye.
-Edna’s Sour Milk Cornbread $21 - so buttery, so good. The honey was delicious. This is the “must order” dish here.
-Carolina Gold Rice $31 - high price for small portion size. Too salty.
-Beef Ribeye $149 - pretty good. They cut the beef into slices. They also included bone marrow in the bone, grilled lemon, and sea salt. (We had a kinda funny issue with the ribeye, but the server so kindly helped us.)
Good luck finding street parking. Some outdoor seating available. Bathroom is in the back.
I would visit again. I want to try some dessert next time, maybe the sherry affogato.

It was our first time visiting and we were simply blown away. We sat at the Chefs Counter so we could see the action. One of the people who made our visit incredibly special was Anessa who guided us with wine. She simply could not have been more genuine and lovely. The expo was also a treat to watch….the Chef was always around…coaching the team, saying hello to guests. There was ZERO stress in that kitchen. You can’t often say that. The food was ridiculously good. Oysters, Comte cheese, Swordfish, Simple Greens. Can’t wait to come back.

There's been a lot of hype from "influencers" for different restaurants and it's kind of off-putting because many of the claims for 'most amazing' restaurants aren't really valid or believable. This spot is the exception. It's not the 'most amazing' but it is high up there. The service is very attentive and the hospitality is genuine. The servers work well with each other to provide the diner a pleasant experience. I'm beginning to value flavor over artsy presentation and this place delivers.
Ranking the food from highest to lowest (not order of service): Sour-milk Cornbread, Japanese sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, baby albacore sashimi, Roasted hen and croutons, hubs peanuts. I wanted to like the hen higher but it's a simple dish executed very well. Same goes for everything else. Don't let the list fool you, all the food is very very good.
The hype around this place is definitely much deserved and the cornbread alone is enough to make you visit multiple times. It's truly one of the 'most amazing'.
